My client, when my laptop is not plugged in, says it is paused to sonserve power. How do I change that etting so it is always on? You can not change this behavior. As the message says, this is to conserve power. If this did not happen, your battery would drain very quickly and would interfere with the other work you do on your laptop. The idea behind running this agent is that it won't interfere with your day to day activities. - Rick Alther World Community Grid Application Developer

I am running this on a Dell 8600 Laptop ... it is plugged in into the outlet and power setting set to Home/Office. Status still says "Agent is paused" ...

I also would like to be able to override the "paused to conserve power" feature. I regularly (once every other week?) drain my battery, which I think is good for the battery. It would be nice if I could at least temporarily override the setting. Perhaps this could be considered for a future release?

So if I cannot get access where I stay, I go to 7-11 to do emails etc. Would be useful if I could switch WCG on and off. I know there must be a huge wish list already, but please add this as item whatever. Thanks and kind regards to the management. |

The utility mentioned in http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=1663 can do this. If we included this ability in the download, I am sure that someone would use it without bothering to read the warnings about battery damage.
