You can not change this behavior. As the message says, this is to conserve power. If this did not happen, your battery would drain very quickly and would interfere with the other work you do on your laptop. The idea behind running this agent is that it won't interfere with your day to day activities.

Re: Paused when not plugged in.

I also would like to be able to override the "paused to conserve power" feature. I regularly (once every other week?) drain my battery, which I think is good for the battery. It would be nice if I could at least temporarily override the setting. Perhaps this could be considered for a future release? confused

I agree. I travel a lot. Use wireless. Don't carry lots of cables. So if I cannot get access where I stay, I go to 7-11 to do emails etc. Would be useful if I could switch WCG on and off.

I know there must be a huge wish list already, but please add this as item whatever.

Thanks and kind regards to the management.

cool Re: Paused when not plugged in.

The utility mentioned in http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=1663 can do this. If we included this ability in the download, I am sure that someone would use it without bothering to read the warnings about battery damage.
