The rush went out of the project as the owners are going to work on their thesis before continuing on with phase II (expected no earlier than end 2008). About 2 weeks ago the deadlines were extended from initially 5 days to 10 days to help access also for the very slow crunchers.... and they are there. The depencies are as what retsof describes. Before there was horizontal too i.e. cycle 14 would not start until 13 was complete for all 82 blocks, but that has effectively resulted in little project progress at all. We're now about 8 months in and still the 27x82x10 initial sets are not done.

My formula was just setting the machines to receive AC@H WU's during most hours of each day, despite of continue running all others projects WU's downloaded sometimes (is rare get AC@H WU's as you know...). Thanks. Giba.

Which one in the list was processed by you ? (highlighted in orange background on a colour display). None of them reached 24+ cpu hours

Kremer,
----------------------------------------take a look at your results status page view inside WCG, select just AfricaClimate@Home project and take note about your last two weeks AC@H WU's processed (you will see the status of each one, I guess that just valid and invalid results count for time of processing...). If you processed anyone before, by now is impossible verify (will be a future feature I guess...). If the total WU's time (valid and invalid) sum more than 24 hours , so you have the right to get the badge... so pick all WU's times and post again here if you have more doubts... The WCG team certainly will help on that. But be aware that the badge assignement is an automatic feature posted by WCG when anyone get the minimum requirements to get the badge's ... and in AC@H case you need sum at least 24 hours of processing. Regards. Giba.

Nix,
----------------------------------------SEK or other community advisor maybe will clarify better, but I guess that they (scientists) just start the work to put in place the phase II once it require a lot of study over phase I data and results, despite of phase I project yet are running and almost finished... remember that according a lot pof posts in this fora, the most of results returned and there are a lot of material to be analysed. bu scientists. Regards. Giba.

Does that mean that the project scientists have abandoned phase 1 due to running out of time? NixChix, The scientists have absolutely not abandondend the project. The work for the current phase will be completed by the end of April. Then we will finish sending the results to University of Cape Town (due to band width issues in South Africa, the results being sent back lag about 4 to 6 weeks behind). Meanwhile the researchers will finish validating all the results to make sure that no re-run is required. After they confirm that the results look good, they will start a serious analysis of the data for a possible scientific paper and to prepare for phase 2. The researchers have told us not to expect phase 2 to start until late/2008 or early/2009. |
