Hi,
----------------------------------------Where is my badge ? I got more than 5 AfricanClimate Wu (each one took about 12-13 hours on my dual core laptop). If the badge is given for 1 day , that means I have a shot at it, No ? Please Knreed, look into it. Thanks |

Hi,
----------------------------------------can you please go to the My Grid > Result Status page and filter the AfricanClimate Results and copy paste the work unit lines here. ttyl AND, did you crunch those under this member name also for the other 'missing' badges?

I guess I had only 3 African Wu's and one return with error.
----------------------------------------So I crunched 39 hours of it but the 19 hours of the last Wu return Error. Under the "crunching rules" that means I deserve the badge or not ? ach1_ 22_ 76_ 1-- dualcore Valid 02/19/2008 16:45:55 02/21/2008 04:23:12 9.91 101.0 / 96.4 ach1_ 22_ 58_ 4-- dualcore Valid 02/16/2008 10:01:43 02/16/2008 22:30:45 10.01 103.2 / 101.5 ach1_ 16_ 34_ 27-- p4 Error 02/08/2008 00:37:18 02/09/2008 08:29:39 19.25 144.0 / 0.0 also: I can see my 6 devices in Device Manager : p4 Default 01/06/2008 03:16:10 dualcore Default 01/05/2008 22:41:46 P2 Default 01/04/2008 01:50:20 P2 Default 04/27/2007 02:11:00 pentiumpatru Default 04/18/2007 20:19:14 PATERIC Default 04/16/2007 02:21:48 But when I go to Result Status I don't see the work for the last 4 devices. And with PATERIC computer I worked for months on Muscular Distrophy. P2 & pentiumpatru worked everything including A LOT of Genome Wu's. Return to Top |

Well, i hate to disappoint you but only valid and invalid work counts for time, so 19 hours is a little short.
----------------------------------------With those devices run under damir1978 for extended periods on HCMD and GC you're probably better off sending a mail to support@worldcommunitygrid.org. The badge award system is automatic, so it would require manual inspection. Except for the AC@H work, most other work does not stay long in the RS pages. Once the work units are complete and moved through the assimilator, on-line information is removed else the database for detail records gets way to big and slow. What is left behind is the device daily history and the totals per project which members atm cannot see on the My Grid page but will in the future.

But my question is how come others received the badge for Muscular and Genome, when those project finished long time before the Badge system. If the result are deleted from the on-line database, that means those Badges (and also for defunct projects like Human Protheom 1, and Help defeat Cancer) where calculated using the "total time" from some other data base. So for sure I should've received the badge like everybody else.

The "result" is the actual file that was computed. WCG still keep a record of the work done by everyone even after the results are sent back to the scientists and deleted from the database.

If you still don't meet the network requirement, then you will probably have difficulty with ACH units if you lie about your speed. Not to mention you will be delaying the resolution of that work unit to the project and to those who have the horsepower/bandwidth to process it. I have had workunits sit around for a week or more in the pending state waiting for that lone cruncher to either return a result or time out. Even when you manipulate the bandwidth, the only thing that can delay the result is the upload/download time, which in any case will not be more than couple of hours. There is no reason one has to wait for a week just because someone has tampered with bandwidth entries. |

ACH1_27_45 depended on the results from ACH1_26_45 ... depended on the results from ACH1_25_45 ... depended on the results from ACH1_24_45 ............. and everything depended on ACH1_1_45. There were 82 area processing chains, and 10x redundancy for each area. Each area was something like 90000 hectares. The next fortnight could not get started for that area until the previous fortnight had a result for that area. Now, with one more change to the 90000 hectares to make the units compatible... Each 2 week period covers 82 adjacent 'areas' of 30x30km in SA. 82 areas of 149.129086 x 149.129086 furlongs per fortnight. We're guessing that the next phase will be larger. We don't know whether it will still do this series/parallel thing.

Interestingly, as a reply to my post here, I was told that 'the time factor is probably not very important', at least at this point. |
