Hi folks. I frankly feel bad as I am not very satisfied with how I've been doing here lately. You've noticed that I've been a good bit quiter than usual. I have an awful lot in flux at the moment. I'm trying to wrap up the next website update and that really has me antsy. It's hard to say just when I expect to roll it out with everything else like it is right now. Tomorrow is not soon enough for me. I really want to have some visible progress to show. For the most part, my illness from last week is over. I'm still recovering from the aftereffects though. While I was able to knock it down somewhat quickly, it was intense in the meantime. I may be back to near 100% by the weekend.
----------------------------------------Welcome back Dataman. I'd love to have you stay for a while but I know too you have a taste of the wanderlust in your blood. You'll get the urge again soon enough. I suspect that Gerald had a bit of a "Great Escape" from the PV jail today. As much as I'd like to see him back to warp speed, it does seem a bit premature for that. We do need to do what we can to get a pretty major bump in the number of members returning results each day. We need to be back up in the 60's, not struggling to stay in the 40's. We're getting to where we are going to be too susceptible to the individual events that come along hitting one or another of us here on the team. Big fluctuations make it extremely difficult to develop viable team challenges. At this point, having a year end goal seems pretty much a comoatose idea. I find it hard to be hopeful we could hit 40 million this year given that we haven't even hit the summer doldrums yet. We're slowly but steadily dropping in the team rankings but you hate to bring attention to that too. We're in for a bit of a "dry spell" but we'll get through it. We've done it before. |

Hi folks. I frankly feel bad as I am not very satisfied with how I've been doing here lately. As Jack Benny used to say..."Now, cut that out" I realize this is none of my business, but there's no reason for you to be down on yourself regarding your team commitment. You post here every day, including the very time-consuming stats run. Usually posted just minutes after the WCG servers spit out the info. You return results day in and day out. Not always in the top ten list, but not everyone's priority is to have multiple high-powered machines churning up the utilities. You're building a website which takes a lot of time and tweaking. Especially difficult when you learn as you go. No posts that I've seen about it not being finished. It'll be done when it's done. So, as far as I can see...there's absolutely nothing to apologize for. Onward and upward, Keith Henry (My apologies if I'm out of line) |

Keith,
----------------------------------------I was down with a flu that make me feel like i was hit by a double barreled shotgun that had three barrels. What i did to help my team durring the last resession, was to find out which projects work best on which platforms. Glad you are feeling better. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Okay folks, welcome to east Tennessee hillbilly. We're stubborn, ornery and hard headed. I prefer to live up to my expectations, not down to them. Yea, I'm hard on myself. Beats being a lazy old snot. It's hard to be patient, partly because I wonder if I'm going to have the option to be patient in the first place. Anyone remember the last time we got a brand new cruncher who actually crunched and did so consistently? Our output is down by a third despite our point totals. We're far too susceptible to the usual vagaries of life that are inevitable. We lose a handful of folks and we could lose the majority of our output. We need more voices here. When it's the same small circle that's active, you have to fight burning out. If it was the middle of the summer, I could use that as an excuse but in the beginning of spring?

Yeah, I'm trying hard to recruit people, but there's just so much apathy these days - even in an enlightened college town like Boston. |
