I am getting a refund on that APC UPS as well as the expedited shipping charges. I will offically know that in a day or two at the lastest. I definitely will wait for the confirmation in the link they emailed me. Now, I am actually thinking the unthinkable, and that is getting a Cyberpower UPS. Could be that they are doing a better marketing job with home users when they mention 'Pure Sine Wave, designed to support Active PFC power supplies and conventional power supplies'. Not 100% sure, but really close. APC still rules the large enterprise (large cporporations, cloud computing, etc), and until recently, they are not marketing and being informative about sine wave and Active Power Factor. http://www.amazon.com/CyberPower-CP1000PFCLCD...p;sr=1-3&keywords=APC or maybe their CP1500. I woke up to a beep noise (Green light was omn and *not* blinking). This sounds like it *could* be a "dirty plug'. Switched plugs and well (ok for now) I'll have to see. Also will need electrician to check out that plug as well. Supposedly, the CyberPower CP1000PFCLCD PFC Sinewave UPS 1000VA 600W PFC Compatible Mini-Tower (I may even get the 1500VA 900W version, not sure) will 'work' with a dirty plug but I really doubt that. Until I get the new UPS, I will have to shut down the machine when I have appointments, etc. Better to play safe if this IS your only working PC!
