twilyth the SN2S project went intermittent (just like all the other indeterminate projects: the research studies, research funding, yada yada. Too bad! I also really liked crunching those as it is a horrible disease for people who live in those climates/global locations. sad I don't understand why that should matter though. What am I missing?If WCG is reporting run times for the project, shouldn't it also be reporting points and results? Or are you talking about why there are no rankings for that challenge? That would make sense since the distribution of work units will be uneven. But in that case, why does the system even let us set up challenges for intermittent projects? That seems a little silly doesn't it? twilyth, I have no idea. I think it merely turned into an intermittent project despite the fact it was a project in the Team Challeges and the scientists are/were to busy for something that was not research related. Hey JC. I try to check in every day but I do go MIA from time to time. I just don't always have anything team related to say. But if you want vapid chatter, I definitely help you out there. I can probably manage 2 or three "conversations" all by myself with myself, but then we don't want to scare people away, do we?

I suppress most of the graphics since otherwise the page takes too long to load. It's incredibly thoughtful of you to do this day after day, week after week and year after year with such absolute dedication and consistency. Personally I'd like to do something to show my gratitude, so if you're interested in some hardware or something, drop me an email. Seriously. I have a lot of stuff I'm not using. OK. Well, feel free to get in touch some time anyway. I'm dead serious about the hardware though. Electricity rates here are too much for me to run many more machines than I already have plus I'm keeping my powder dry for when/if we get a gpu project. That will mean firing up all of the HD79xx's plus the dual socket hex core. And that's not to mention any new GPU's on the market that might tempt me. But I'm pretty sure I have all of the parts for a dual socket quad core and they've been gathering dust for nearly a year now I think.
----------------------------------------I've been thinking of running some sort of contest but that involves my first doing some sort of inventory and that means getting at least somewhat organized. It COULD happen, but the past several months haven't really gone well for me. I'm hoping that changes soon. If you have any ideas though, I could probably do at least something to help. I have never accepted anything (as a cruncher), yet I have given a brand new (and current at the time) CPU (when they were very costly) to one dedicated cruncher and two Zalman fans to somebody else who really needed them (must have been 5+ years ago. I was only happy to give those away as I did alright in my job. Now, ot's a much different story unless this global economy comes back and we see jobs coming back in the Engineering and Scientific in the very high technology sectors. If my main PC ever ... oh well, I don't want to post about that and then see it jinx me.
