I read a couple of weeks ago that due to a German beer bottle shortage there might not be enough beer. People were asked to return their beer bottles so the breweries could bottle and distribute enough beer for the upcoming event. Any truth to this or was the article a joke?? Thanks. Ray |

Ray Ray, it is true, that a lot of people do not return their empty bottles, and in some supermarkets you can only buy the same amount of new bottles, as you brought back empty ones. I do not understand this, because you get money back, if you return them, and there are a lot of people (especially when i want to return mine they are in front of my line) who collect bottles to earn some money (from garbage cans, public parcs, i.e.) The Wiesn (Oktoberfest) is not affected by that. The beer is delivered in huge, HUGE containers. i am not sure, but i think i read the capacity of such a container is 2000 liters/550 gallons, maybe even more. I wonder if anyone has this 'crunching problem': let's face it, Boinc is simply not an accomplished Distributed Computing client software. Perhaps it's biggest weakness is as a "baby sitter" of results returned; meaning, they don't go to bed until 6 or 7am in the morning!

This is horrible. I don't remember the old United Device (UD client) doing that. Yet, this is what happens when there are a zillion Boinc so-called software developers involved in working in churning a huge number of beta versions. I did a search here at the WCG months ago and copied a potential answer to my problem: report_results_immediately Yes, in the cc config (I have the proper script for it). If one does not have a cc config in their Boinc Program Data folder, you have to use notepad to make one. Does anyone know if this is true? I did find a really silly reply about 'being kind' to the servers, which as an IT Recruiter, I found way too laughable about incompetence. Yikes! Konnichi wa, Co-Captains (fellow Team Mates)! Edit: and, as i have seen in the moment, HFCC is taking very much longer as ususal.
