Good morning,
I have boinc installed on 2 Linux machines. Each works nicely, crunches neatly. Each one of them I registered to my user data here at worldcommunitygrid, no appearant trouble. But: One machine sends data back and gets it registered here (the machine I installed on first) and the other one appears to not do that, at least nothing appears in my statistics here. I don't see the machines name in my devices either. I know there are people out there with whole farms of crunching PCs, what do I have to do in order to get my two to contribute? |

The most common cause of this is a second account name. You have an underscore in your name. Have you checked carefully that the account name is identical for both computers?
The other possibility is that the computer hasn't yet returned any work. I get the impression you believe it has. Perhaps you could post the message log from the troublesome machine for us? |

Yes, the second computer has a different name.
Both definitely are attached to the same account on worldcommunitygrid. What log file would you need? Where do I find it? |

Hello thom_raindog,
The Projects tab in BOINC Manager lists the account name. If the Messages tab shows that you have downloaded a work unit, then My Grid - Results Status should list that work unit on the website. Lawrence |

The Messages tab in BOINC Manager. They are also logged in stdoutdae.txt
Use your own judgement deciding how much of the log to include. |

Okay, I looked up your stats. This line drew my attention:
Last Result Returned (UTC) 01/19/2008 22:48:04 [687+ hour(s) ago] Clearly, you are either not returning results, or you are doing so under a different name. If you check the computer ID for both computers, the techs will be able to look up the account you are actually running under. Or look yourself in BOINC Manager: the Projects tab shows your account name. |

Strikes me that both clients should show the same amount of cumulative credit in the Project Tab of BOINCmgr after selecting WCG project and hitting the update button.

Ok, both machines show in the project tab to be attached to thom_raindog, so that should work.
In my results status window on the website I have some results credited to my main machine (black-beauty, nothing to do with the horse though) and two that just show a 6 digit number as a device name. All are dated to feb 16th as sent. One that is listed as black-beauty is also status valid, and I got credit for it, but my main window (my Statistics) still claims I last returned a result on january 19th. BTW, I had reinstalled my machine in january and until now had not reinstalled boinc, so thats why there is a gap. |

I'm going to wait a day to see whether your problem is simply that the work you returned hasn't validated yet.
Your original post implied that that wasn't the problem, but now I'm not so sure. |

One that is listed as black-beauty is also status valid, and I got credit for it, but my main window (my Statistics) still claims I last returned a result on january 19th. WCG Statistics pages only update 2x per day. The BOINCstats site updates more frequently pulling data from the WCG XML information. According to that you've accumulated ad interim 706 BOINC credits for today, suggesting that crunching just goes fine. http://boincstats.com/stats/user_graph.php?pr=wcg&id=291354
