Don’t let them get paranoid on you! If a person comes to you, tell them you will turn it off and on remotely for a week or 2. If he/she can say which day it was off and on, then they may have something. If not, and I’m pretty darn sure it will be not, then tell them this for me: LOL, I agree, but we are talking about people who barely know how to turn on their computer. If they see something in their systray they didn't start themselves, they call IT...how'd this get on my machine... I set BOINC to run as a service, and installed to the admin account, but when a regular user signs on, it still shows that BlackX in the systray. The older version that just showed a black B didn't seem to bother people as much, but the new design seems to have gotten peoples attention. And not in a good way. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hi cargod01,
----------------------------------------The only reason this could be is that the AllUser profile (or the individual user) probably got the GUI shortcut link in the autostart menu like C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Menu Start\Programs\Start Up\ (translated so in English it could be a different path) What can start is the BOINCtray.exe That should not show anything though until BOINCmgr is launched. ciao

Yes, give it a wack. HCC seems to be running much better. I would stay way from Folding. It has some monster work units.
----------------------------------------We are in The Bunny Race as well. We could use the points, at least until the 24th. Good to see you. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

If they see boinctray on the start menu, they may wonder...but as long as nothing shows in systray it may be OK ![]() ![]() ![]() |
