Re: Oddity in BOINC Credit

We can't troubleshoot alpha problems. If you use a test version of BOINC, you have to get support from the BOINC folks.
I'm pretty sure that has zero to do with the problem at hand, considering I was running 5.10.30 until a day ago when I installed 5.10.38 and then later in the day, 5.10.39 (which you saw in the log) in an effort to see if that would make any difference. So far it has not.

Re: Oddity in BOINC Credit

Hello billroland,
Looking at your times just emphasizes how old and slow my computer is. You ought to be claiming about 17.5 to 17.6 BOINC credits per hour of CPU time. If you are not, then the problem is probably on the server, adjusting your claims to match historical performance. Sekerob intends to ask the staff to look at this.

Lawrence
Much appreciated, thanks biggrin

Re: Oddity in BOINC Credit

Still no change in the BOINC Credit being claimed. I think its time to uninstall and reinstall and see if that brings about any change. The other machine started working correctly shortly after a reinstall, maybe that's what this needs.

Re: Oddity in BOINC Credit

As an experiment, detach from WCG, exit BOINC, inside the BOINC\projects\ directory delete the www.worldcommunitygrid.org folder and delete 3 files in \BOINC\ and reattach.

1. client_state.xml
2. client_state_prev.xml
3. account_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml

I think the cloning just put a spanner in the wheel. Just checked BOINCstats again but see your devices have remained hidden. Absent a response as yet from the techs, we could have seen if there is still a P3 being identified producing work (assuming the 2 replacements were the last crunching).

As an update, did that, no change. Completely uninstalled BOINC, reinstalled, no change in claimed credit. Really stumped on this one. I can't understand why this wouldn't have autocorrected by now, its gone through 3 version changes (5.10.30>5.10.38>5.3.39), a reinstall, etc.
