In my experience, MS frontpage takes out about 95% of the hassle. 1) That may be true if your site is virtually all static XHTML. In the end, our's will probably be 95% PHP code. 2) MS has a proven track record of insecure code that locks you in to buying upgrades to protect yourself. It took a near revolt to get them to take security seriously. 3) I'm already close to $2k out of pocket. 4) I know code generators can't do the best job the way I want it done because they have to do the job for everyone and everyone doesn't want the same thing. 5) I'm an old fart who likes doing things my way instead of finding a way to get someone else's stuff to come close to doing what I want. FROM NITE OWL I've decided to take a chance on my house burning down and leave my machines crunching while in California. Now if I don't drop dead or get run over by one of those crazy California drivers they should be alright. If I do croak I don't think I'll really care will I... I'll be in a box headed for Florida. Whenever you take a risky trip, do as NITE OWL does, leave your crunchers running. Even Win machines should be okay for some unattended uptime so if you feel you might not be able to come back to switch them on: don't switch them off. BUT... If you want to return safely, though, wear a badge that says: I'M A CRUNCHER AND I SWITCHED MY MACHINES OFF FOR THIS VISIT, PLEASE DON'T RUN OVER ME... Only being silly, Stefan. Gerald/Blizzie - although I sometimes question and criticise some aspects here, I do think the science is valid and worthy of support. Sometimes you have to just hold your nose and crunch regardless Thanks for reminding me--crunching for your dad, my wife, and anyone with cancer |
