My fridg. went out today---There goes my Christmas cruncher--My grandson thinks -there goes CHRISTmas- but he does not know he is already covered

However, only having 30 members returning a result today just doesn't seem right. I know it's getting to be that time in the holiday season when folks disappear for the rest of the year to use up their vacation time but I'm seeing a lot of folks with no points that are quite regular. Can't find anything in Known Issues (though posts in there about problems aren't always made it seems), Website Support or BOINC Agent Support. Could it be that we still have a lot of folks running with the UD Agent? You know ... that could be it. Looks like it will be down until tomorrow.  I wonder what will happen when they finally stop supporting UD. Even though it is below 17% of the users, that could be a lot of crunchers to loose.  |

Worse yet! My laptop is down. It says the battery is critically low which means it isn't getting power from the AC transformer. I can't get at the wires from my wheelchair to check it out to see where it is unplugged (I hope that is all that is wrong). It will probably be down until Sunday when my sons visit. So my points just got chopped in half for a few days.

So my points just got chopped in half for a few days. Well aren’t we all having a MOTley mass of miserable luck today? I’ll add my sad story. Although the Fed Funds rate was cut .25% as expected Fed only cut the Discount rate by .25% instead of the anticipated .50%. When announced, the DOW dropped 300 points in about 4 heartbeats to end down 294.26, NASDAQ down 66.60 and the S&P down 38.31. The stocks I purchased in the morning, not to mention the whole portfolio, took a ride with the “tidy bowel man” today. It’s difficult to resist the urge to move to cash when 2008 is starting to look like a recessionary year. Oh well, "you pays your money and takes your chances.' At least when Gerald spends his money he gets a new fridge ... all I have to show today for mine is heartburn!  |
