Don't despair Blizzie; we have BaseCampers who've said they'll come help us if we run into "unforeseen issues." What would that prove? That's just accounting not new results WCG has screwed up in this UD outage. If by design or by accident ... it hurts the cause. ![]() ![]() |

Don't despair Blizzie; we have BaseCampers who've said they'll come help us if we run into "unforeseen issues." Yes, they'll help us reach our goal. But that means nothing. If we fail, we fail on our own. We don't need their support in order to boost us to our goal. Maybe that's a little too much for me to say.. for being here for 3 days. ![]() |

This is WCG, not the old grid.org. Compost happens. When it does, the admins here bust their royal hineys fixing it and fixing it right. The server outage over the Christmas holidays due to a hardware failure in the midst of a blizzard that one year is more than ample proof of that. This time, where they have dropped the ball big time is in leaving their entire user community in the dark about it. THAT is clearly an anomaly but a failure nevertheless. |

Hey, I felt your afterburners as you went by! Didn't you see me salute? .... And no, it was a proper salute too. ![]() The supercharger was screaming on the Saleen ... but I waved too as I went by. This UD thing has really pissed me off!! Sometimes I think WCG recovers from shooting themselves in the foot by shooting the other foot. There are a lot of members who do not check out the forum daily ... or ever ... some probably have forgotten they are even running the app. So far I am resisting the urge to post a FLAME But this too shall pass. ![]() ![]() |

It would be nice to say "we did it on our own" but even when we make it now, what about the points they've contributed in their past two visits? If we discount those simply because they are not technically members of this team at the moment, shouldn't we also exclude the points of anyone who has left the team this year or even anyone who hasn't been with the team the entire year? I myself don't like the thought of having to count certain points one way and not others. Points should be points. As for the Base Campers, they have home teams of their own that they crunch at when they're not visiting another team. They choose to visit a team for specific reasons. They have visited with us twice because they believe in and support us in our goal. Please understand that I am in no way saying your point is wrong or anything like that. I like to describe it as simply that "there is no such thing as a one-sided coin". I am simply offering a description of what the other side looks like. |

Well, given my experience with the WCG admins over the past three years, this was definitely NOT by design. This is WCG, not the old grid.org. I've been here since the beginning too. From a time of no communication to sporatic communication. And it is not the Admin's who set policy ... they do a great job. As to the grid.org reference ... only time will tell I wonder how long IBM will fund or increase funding if their profits fall? Lost leaders are the first to go. Believe me, few stockholders could give a dead rats behind about WCG. They care about the stock price. ![]() ![]() |
