Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

What a pleasure to see all this activity here
OK, the grizzly is fluffy, smspell. Are you 100% sure?
- and you can take Louloup to all of the USA, stefada, something unforgettable for both of you
NixChix, what will be your next climb?
BladeD, someone wouldn't mind another boost in return for the secretarial work
.... even as I tried to be cheap on the gift wrapping
coffee coffee it's tea honey - not that you have the time sad

Good Morning Base Campers!
What Base Camp does right now
We are on our top40.nl 2.0 trek which takes place here: top40.nl
There is still time for you to earn this badge. The window doesn’t close until 0000 UTC when July 31 turns into August 1.
We had a blitz visit from BladeD, so the U.S. Mint is putting the mold up in their machinery for his owl badge.
Unfortunately he didn’t stay long enough to push us past team Andrax in the challenge, Captain adriverhoef pointed to yesterday.
And there is no chance whatsover for him to be as soft as I am … and you’ll not see me begging in public.
Oh, no! I never beg … BladeD, somebody, anybody, everybody

- is now earned by:
acpartsman
BladeD
davwhite5xq7
Eric_Kaiser
little mermaid
NixChix
tanner2
TLD
Yodap@BC

Upcoming trek
On Wednesday August 1 we’ll begin our five-day trek at team Crunchers4Life
As mentioned the badge depicts NixChix hiking in Zion National Park with his son
- which we didn’t know when we made it. How lucky we get an event that fits into a picture!
Think about it!
If press photos were made this way
– you have a picture of a beached whale and then some whale decides to beach …
well, yeah, it’s far our, but think about it!
That's what happened with this badge, and isn’t that magic!

There was a small tsunami in the Bay of Karrebæksminde around noon. That was when the mermaid entered the ocean for a blissful salt water swim – the first one in several years.
And it was so gooood!
I forgot being a ♥ heart patient ♥ altogether
- which I do most of the time - and dare where others don't.
How lucky I am, not being one of the afraid ones .... met so many who were really scared sad

EDIT: A couple of - let's call them 'typos' - made better and a layout correction

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Dang! d oh
- of course we cannot get ahead of
team Andrax in that challenge as long as
tanner2 is climbing the Andrax curtains ....

I suppose Johnny Cool will have to make
new ones very soon
- unless he's fond of fringes

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

@ tanner2: It was that one, Captain adriverhoef pointed to when he gave me a poor conscience
and made me NOT make a head start, the one where we're behind.
How should we pass team Andrax in this one without heavenly interference?
- and now I have a strange feeling you're on your way toBrasil little brother biggrin
Oh, the internet is afloat with pictures of you shredding curtains and mermaids kissing drowning sailors
tongue

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

@ NixChix - I think it's quite a feat what you did there - with reduced lung capacity!
I know a lady would never ask a gentleman's age, so I'll make it a little broader:

In which age bracket are you?
I don't mind saying that its been 57 years since my birth.

NixChix, what will be your next climb?
I don't have a next climb planned. I have already climbed Half Dome in Yosemite. My son and I did the 19 mile round trip, 4800 ft up and 4800 ft down in one day, er technically it wasn't the same day. we left one morning and didn't get back to our tent until around 3-4 am. That was our second attempt. Our first attempt was cut short by tragedy. About half way-up rangers were running past us (I was exhausted and they were running!) and helicopters were landing on the sub-dome. Someone slipped and fell to their death off Half Dome in the pouring rain. That was the incident that prompted the National Park Service to institute a lottery-permit system to limit hikers as too many climbers was seen as a contributing factor to the incident.

2 years ago we made a trip through Utah and hiked many miles at Arches National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Capitol Reef National Park, Zion National Park and Golden Spike National Historic Site. Everytime I say "never again".

I hope we can pull ahead of Team Andrax in this last 24 hours. I will be a little late switching to Crunchers4Life since I will be still at work at 00:00 UTC.

Cheers coffee

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

NixChix, I kind of followed your tracks in my mind
- from the ground up. So much beauty.
And at your age you have much ahead of you smile
I'm always grateful to American tourists I meet in Copenhagen.
That they come here with all they have to enjoy in their homeland.
Well, we have some old castles and a mountain of some 512 feet ... blushing
- but no red rocks

BladeD -you have a soft spot rose

Thank you, acpartsman - and for notifying Dave
I'm sure Captain smspell cannot wait to see the two of you there.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Good Morning Base Campers!
What Base Camp does right now
We are about to finish our top40.nl 2.0 trek.
You may still be able to squeeze in a WU or two thereby ensuring yourself the one and only owl badge.
We don’t mind inconveniencing US Mint once more at all.

These Base Campers will receive this valuable badge in the Base Camp Hall of Fame ASAP.
acpartsman
BladeD
davwhite5xq7
Eric_Kaiser

NixChix
tanner2
TLD
Yodap@BC

Thank you very much each and every one of you for playing along rose
and thank you to Captain adriverhoef for his music, his hospitality and not least the Carol Beer episodes hugs

Upcoming trek
On Wednesday August 1 0000 UTC
– that’s 8 p.m. if you’re a left ponder on EDT .... I think thinking
we’ll begin our five-day trek at team Crunchers4Life
Captain smspell was a sergeant in the US forces stationed south of my border in Germany
and just a short drive from where Eric_Kaiser - who received a 100-year-Ebola-diamond today - lives.
Geography is good love struck

The badge - a snapshot of NixChix's son giving his Dad a helping hand - can be yours for as little as 1 WU.
One of John Philip Sousa’s snappy marches would be the obvious music for this trek, but cmptr says Noooo ....
This one is not German, but close enough. Austrian Johann Strauss, Sr. wrote the Radetzsky March
and we’ll enjoy the version played by the Wiener Philharmoniker at the New Year Concert 1987 from Musikverein in Vienna.
The conductor is German Herbert von Karajan.
Do you know the joke?
Herbert von Karajan was very conscious about how good he was and – like all of us here – Herbert enjoyed showing off.

One night when leaving his workplace, the Philhamonie in Berlin, in a taxi, the driver asked where Herbert wanted to go.
’Doesn’t matter,’ Herbert said, ’They need me everywhere!’ not talking

Our Crunchers4Life
trek will last until 0000 UTC
– midnight between August 5 and 6
when we begin a trek challenge style at MOT. More about that later.
I hope to see a lot of you welcoming the first decidated team we have seen here for a very long time
– and with a very dedicated and hard working Captain.

EDIT: A couple of imperfections - I hope I was faster than Captain adriverhoef worried
