smspell, Merci ! Now that I understand better, it means that I can come without problem, if I can get him to fly (take plane ?). That we have never done, and it is perhaps me who is most afraid (for him). And, if I may, a big kiss on your sister's forehead. That it is not easy to recover a 'traumatized' dog, so I can not imagine the work when they come back from the war. Even if they just ask for a little love. (Mine, I 'trained' it to look for toys) Good Moring stefada. I will tell My sister you send your Thanks in the Morning here. She was lucky all the dogs go though retraining to be family pets. Sadly so can not be retrained because of Post traumatic shock. They stay and work or are put to sleep ![]() |

----------------------------------------NixChix, you can tell me from now till Christmas Eve that this is not dangerous. I will not tell you at all that it wasn't dangerous. There have been many deaths on this trail over the years, but it is only 1/2 mile long. You could not even travel side by side on most of the upper trail. It was quite an ordeal to have uphill hikers pass the downhill hikers. My son got quite good at organizing the passing and sometimes we had to get quite cozy with the passers. Brave, maybe. Crazy, yes. Most of my family would not go with us (I was part of a large group). My sister and her husband climbed up looking for me after they had taken the other rim trail at Scout Lookout (the beginning of the upper climb) and had already returned from their side trip. My lungs are quite damaged from pollution in my youth and I have to stop frequently to catch up on breathing, especially at 5,790 ft, so it takes me longer than most, but I made it. As we say in Denmark: 'Not ten wild horses would make me do that!' You were not with us on our Andrax trek, because then you would know I suffer from fear of heights ![]() and demanded to sit in the middle whenever we went up, up, up - ![]() There is no way to sit in the middle on that trail, so I regard you as a very, very brave man, NixChix. I think I could brave the Bright Angel Trail in Grand Canyon - how come they all have 'angel' in them ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() stefada wrote: I think you are the first to make me want to come to the USA ![]() Louloup can come, but the trip will be hard for such a large dog. Also Louloup looks just like my son's dog, Adeline. Cheers ![]() ![]() |

@ NixChix - I think it's quite a feat what you did there - with reduced lung capacity!
I know a lady would never ask a gentleman's age, so I'll make it a little broader: In which age bracket are you? ![]() |
