Quand je disais hier que vos résultats sont impressionnant avec Eric_Kaiser : Rien qu'avec ta présence, à la mise à jour de midi, on a fait presque 4'000 heures de calculs ! Quand en moyenne, on en fait environ 2'000 par jour. Je crois que ces stats disent tout. Merci pour ta participation, c'est une très agréable surprise. ----------- Welcome back to the team Kraland tanner2! When I said yesterday that your results are impressive with Eric_Kaiser: Just with your presence, the update of noon, we did almost 4,000 hours of calculations! When on average, we make about 2,000 a day. I believe these stats say everything. Thank you for your participation, it is a very pleasant surprise. |

 Good Afternoon Base Campers! Not that Captain adriverhoef doesn’t do a lot for our entertainment, and not that interesting people don’t come and visit - we even had a fairly large, but seemingly friendly, grizzly visiting Noone came, noone left, our challenge results are unchanged  I received such one last night, noone noticed  Come October we’ll have a good, long fall break …  |

You link all the time...I don't have time to click on all of them. Do I? Oh, don’t you? OK, I’ll limit that. Too. Good Afternoon Base Campers! I’m sorry. It’s getting monotonous. Captain adriverhoef entertains brilliantly with Carol Beer and music. New feature: We can have pickled herring with top40.nl – so hurry up and join. Only few days left until the window for obtaining Base Camp’s unique owl badge closes forever. Over the weekend I’ll prepare for our trek to Crunchers4Life … At 1930 UTC a lunar eclipse – a total one – will begin. I plan on going to a place with as little artificial light pollution as possible where I use to view shooting stars and even though we still have a bit of white/light nights left I hope to enjoy what they call a ’blood moon’. The event will last all of 103 minutes due to the fact that the Moon is almost at its farthest from the Earth, and a repeat will not happen in this century. The conditions should be ideal with no clouds to obscure anything. Besides, it should be unnecessary to think of warm clothing. We have tropical nights these days. People cannot sleep and get cranky. A total lunar eclipse would be a nice addition to our Lunar Landing. In September 2015 a total lunar eclipse in Denmark looked like this.  |

I have done much of the work myself, but in all honesty 36ish OldChap has given me an Xtreme push along the way. Good Morning Base Campers! On Wednesday August 1 we’ll begin a five-day trek at team Crunchers4Life whose Captain is smspell whom we have had the pleasure to have a visit from here. He brought his pet. A very fat grizzly. Crunchers4Life is a rarity these days. A new team, a committed, hardworking captain who has done a lot to promote his team knowing very well it’s no easy ride. We have a badge which I hope you will like and you will donate at least one WU to earn. The total Lunar eclipse? As close to a fiasco as any amateur astronomer comes. The Moon was hidden for a long, long time behind clouds and heat haze. When it came out was OK, but it was not nearly as clear as one could have wished. Returning home it sat above my roof – most of the disc clear and white with a sickle of eclipse to the right.
