What a lovely daughter you have since she looks like the mermaids you showed here. Is she a college/university student?. I thought the first photo was her until I looked closer. Yes, she was in college, but is graduated and married now. She started impersonating your namesake when she was still in high school.Do these parades take place in Disneyland? That is the official name of the place. They have several parades each day. She has impersonated many other characters as well. Are you currently without a team to call your home team, Nix Chix? I have been in For little Jake, and others for the past 11 years.Cheers ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by NixChix at Jul 8, 2018 10:57:04 PM] |

I recognize a lot of the 'For little Jake, and others' team members' names.
And Guitar Man is the captain. I can see Base Camp has made a trek there, and I notice RAMMIE was a member for much longer than a trek's duration. Would you happen to have any knowledge about RAMMIE, Nix Chix? |

I recognize a lot of the 'For little Jake, and others' team members' names. Many of those crunchers came over during the great exodus from Grid.org in 2007, but I don't recognize RAMMIE. It looks like Base Camp made a trek there not long after its formation. There are only 4 active members left in the team. And Guitar Man is the captain. I can see Base Camp has made a trek there, and I notice RAMMIE was a member for much longer than a trek's duration. Would you happen to have any knowledge about RAMMIE, Nix Chix? Cheers ![]() ![]() |

Good thing you have a home team, Nix Chix
I have dug into the archives, but found no badge for a 'For little Jake and others' trek, but there has definitely been one - a good deal of those names are Base Campers. I get quite sentimental ....It was about time you became a Base Camper, Nix Chix - I'm glad you did - and that you talk - on your own initiative and of your own free will TLD was our badge master and has sent me all our badges. This is our oldest of all ![]() dated November 29, 2004 Can you find any 'Jake' badge among those we have, TLD? Perhaps you had none. It was while I was out for the first time. This is what Base Camp has done so far since I returned on my third inning about a year ago ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Little Mermaid,
![]() And I come back to the Vikings in Brittany, which I did some research to find out more. I did not find much, that the Vikings were often called Normans. So we must sort out between the Vikings, and the Normans 'the real'. Once again, there are doubts about the dates, but we can consider that Brittany was under Vikings rule during the Xth century. According to the sources, the nobles and the clergy have fled by carrying away their riches, or by hiding them. Or the Bretons arrived somehow to repel them. I think the first option is the real one. It is estimated that between 913-936/937 Brittany no longer exists as a country in practice, until Alain the Great hunt the Vikings. He is often considered the first Duke of Brittany. I can not really say more, that I totally discover this part of the History of Brittany (my answer yesterday did not please me, there was necessarily more). If you want to know more, the two most reliable and interesting sources I found are here and here. (All in French, but Google Trad 'is our friend) Finally, there is an archaeological site in Plédran (near Rennes) of a Viking fortress. The proof that they were well settled in Brittany. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jul 9, 2018 6:16:04 PM] |

Thank you, stefada. Can you yourself trace your family back in time? You may be a Viking
It is my understanding that the ’Norman’ name actually means men from the North ~ Vikings, and that they are known to have navigated la Seine. Oh, no, I wouldn’t forget our current trek. Just got lost in some archaology of my own Good Afternoon Base Campers! May I suggest that you pay a visit to our Captain adriverhoef’s team thread. You will find pleasant music and wildly entertaining sketches. A certain Carol Beer is your polite and helpful receptionist. Carol Beer makes her first entry here stefada is right. I am a bit distracted by 1. a new Base Camper arriving without me begging and stalking, bribing and rewarding – I mean Nix Chix just came … 2. our new Base Camper’s home team has a lot of memories for me on it’s memberlist, if I may say so. So with our crew reinforced by Nix Chix we may see an improvement in our challenge standing tomorrow. Currently crunching for Captain adriverhoef are: acpartsman davwhite5xq7 little mermaid Nix Chix Yodap@BC It seems I need to repeat my question: Captain adriverhoef, I have wondered for a long, long time: What does ’lidwien’ mean? What Base Camp does right now We are on our top40.nl 2.0 trek which takes place here: top40.nl Everybody is invited at any time during the entire month of July – Nix Chix did! July 14 – Bastille Day in France and July 21 – anniversary for the lunar landing will be peak days Captain adriverhoef has entered us into a number of challenges This is the badge for trek top40.nl 2.0 ![]() So far it has been earned by acpartsman davwhite5xq7 Eric_Kaiser little mermaid Nix Chix tanner2 TLD Yodap@BC UltimaThule will earn one if he returns to Minnesota Crunchers ♥ Willkommen ♥ Bienvenue ♥ Welcome ♥ Oh, finally somebody sent out a supply of provisions … dried fish, mead and such ![]() |

Nice poster
No, I have not. Normally, I shun sci-fi and spy themes because my brain cannot proces the stuff. Generally, these days I see too few movies, read very little, don't even see the few TV programs I thought would be interesting - apart from the Croatia-Denmark WC match all because I have glued myself to this place 20/7. If I should get around to see "Mars & Avril", what in particular would you recommend me to watch out for, BladeD? |
