That was some cryptic message, Fossaw. In spite of not being curious, I shall of course spend oceans of hours ruminating, defragmenting, scandisking, and what have you ... |

Thank you LM, it is always a pleasure to be here. Thanks for all you do. you and everybody else give me so much back - besides I'm seriously addicted Three dots - instead of doing chores I found a number of suggestions to explain:- My father has one; he has explained to me that is’t a sailor’s tattoo and means ’Faith, Hope, and Love’ - Mi vida loca ~ "The crazy life in Spanish means doing wild and crazy things that make you cool. - It means ’Faith, Hope, and Love’ unless you’re a gang member in which case it means min of meer the opposite - French crime writers want it to mean ’Mort aux Vaches’ - ’vaches’ normally meaning cows I think but in this case ’Death to the Cops’ - Some think it should commemorate Admiral Horatio Nelson’s three victories: Abukir, Trafalgar, and Copenhagen - they stole our fleet - It could be a simplification of an old Christian symbol: Three fishes in a triangle. - It is also called the ’hobo sign’ or the ’misogynist sign’ Did any of these suggestions fit what you had in mind, Fossaw? - or should I eat marshmallows instantly and drown in dustbunnies ? EDIT: 'memorize' should be 'memorialize' but now I decided to go with 'commemorate' instead [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at May 5, 2018 11:31:21 AM] |

In the message before my memory jogger, you were wanting a couple of people to crunch some work units somewhere. You have said you would explain the "system" but have not done so yet. I can crunch some work units somewhere...

Sorry, I thought I had, Fossaw.
Base Camp is my life, so I tend to think that everyone understands. Now this is Base Camp explained - the link is in my signature, too, now. It needs a brush-up, but is OK for the objective basics. When I get that brush-up done, there will be a link to this subjective post. Base Camp would appreciate you joining, Fossaw You do that by KLiKing this link to Minnesota Crunchers and once there KLiK the blue Join Team button - and you will then be part of that team until you decide to move elsewhere, and your work is counted with the team while you're there - but most importantly for most crunchers: with yourself as well Looking forward to - hopefully - getting a new Base Camper now and in the future. If anything is murky, please let me know. I want the edited explanation to be as clear as possible to all who doesn't have 'Base' as their first and 'Camp' as their last name, and a critical eye is welcome ![]() |

Okay, I believe I have joined that team. In starting the join, my major question answered itself, ie. what happens to my existing team membership. How long does this "trek" last?

Which was/is your existing/home team, Fossaw?
The duration of the trek is not fixed this time - and when it is, most Base Campers behave anarchistically anyway To earn the Moose badge and a mention in the Base Camp Hall of Fame, you need to stay long enough to have at least one WU chalked down for you. I don't know the rhythm of updates, but I believe it's twice a day - at 00:00 UTC and 12:00 UTC. My own plan is to stay with Minnesota Crunchers until we had news about how Minnesota Crunchers cruncher Bearcat is doing. Are you in a hurry? ![]() ![]() |

Oh, I was so absorbed in trying to give you facts,
that I completely forgot to say welcome to the trek, Fossaw ![]() |

I have crunched for BoincDenmark for a long time. Kirsten, the founder, is a, kind of, friend. I wrote some programs and scripts for the website, stat collectors and rationalizers etc. The website was hosted by another member, for some reason, I never knew why, the he could or would not host it anymore, so it basically vanished.
