Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Did your mother stay in Mississippi when you went north?

Yes, my parents lived in MS. My father would have been 99 his birthday in Feb.

Good Afternoon Base Campers!

We entered Maine somewhat noisily … This is the points graph; it could be any of the three.
Not much is still standing – well, it looks as if a steamroller did something shock
This crew
rose acpartsman
rose BladeD
rose davwhite5xq7
rose Doneske
rose TLD
rose Urden
rose yodap@BC

– and we just got stronger after BladeD joined.

Wouldn't you love to see the look on the team members faces when they check their stats and see those returns? You know they suddenly email the Captain asking what's going on. laughing

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

In France either, it is not with the media 'main stream', that one can really have information. The photo of Nantes for example, it is by friends on facebook that I had it. We are not very numerous, we do not flood, but when we learn something we find important, we share.

But it might be better if Little Mermaid gives his opinion. That we are friends on FB, so she can see. If it interests you, use this media, so that you can learn about what is happening in France, and in Europe. (Macron type that was put lower than land, with class, in the European Parliament, by a Belgian (forgotten the name)) It is with pleasure. I start from the principle that: "Knowledge is Power"; So much as we know as much as possible.
It's just that I think the WCG is not meant to be a political forum, so just do it next to it.

BladeD

Welcome to the Base Camp ! Nice idea to follow Lilltle Mermaid.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

acpartsman, I’m afraid that we who are here on a daily basis and have crunching as a hobby or an obsession or just care about this enterprise are different from the many, many ’silent crunchers’. I wish Maine Community Grid monitored their results, but they may not do so. I have yet to hear from Captain MCM.
Good Afternoon Base Campers!
The nine members of our Maine trek crew as of today are:
rose acpartsman
rose BladeD
rose davwhite5xq7
rose Doneske
rose little mermaid
rose tanner2
rose TLD
rose Urden
rose yodap@BC

It’s your birthday, acpartsman, and you expressed a wish of getting to meet the Govenor of Maine, Paul LePage.

Therefore we’ll go to Augusta, the capitol.
A few facts: Maine is 35.385 sq mi – Mexico is 761.61000 remember? – so 21½ Maines will fit into one Mexico. Only 1.3 million people share all that land ~ 43 people on each sq mi. And in Augusta they are only about 20,000 people, and a river runs though it – the Kennebec River.

Paul LePage himself resides in Blaine House

a charming structure next to the State House, where he has his office. So, we’ll visit the State House designed by Charles Bulfinch, an experienced State House architect

who also designed the Massachusetts and Connecticut State Houses as well as the United States Capitol in Washington, D. C. It a fairly orthodox state house architecture.
The copper sheath of the dome was just replaced and looks and shines like copper. It will take it some 35 years to oxidize into the pretty green.

While acpartsman discusses politics with Paul LePage, the rest of us will discuss renewable energy.
Maine has 900 megawatts of installed wind energy, more than all other New England states combined. The conditions for constructing wind farms have been fairly good, but now they discuss a proposal which among other things will increase fivefold – from 8 miles to 40 miles – the area around turbines subject to visual impact studies.

Serious things over and done with, we’ll go touristy.
The Vietnam Memorial in the State Park

Fort Western, a former British colonial outpost built in 1754 during the French and Indian War at the Kennebec River

At a lobster schack we’ll enjoy a lobster roll

before taking a look at Ladies Delight Light which is a small lighthouse on Lake Cobbossee, in Winthrop. It was constructed in 1908 and is believed to be the only active inland waters lighthouse in Maine.

- and now we’ll sneak over to Augusta Golf Course and pitch our tents in an inconspicuous place on the softest grass.

Nice to meet another cruncher so close. Been 35 years since I was in VB. If you make it to Martinsville sometime you'll have to swing by and meet.
71 yesterday but calling for rain today and tomorrow which is fine, wash away some pollen.

I wish Maine Community Grid monitored their results, but they may not do so. I have yet to hear from Captain MCM.
Perhaps that would be getting a bit difficult, since this captain has been returning MCM's last result (give or take) some 94,444 hours ago: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/stat/viewMemberInfo.do?userName=MCM
An amount that exceeds well over 10 years and that same number 10 actually also surpasses the mere number of his returned results (an impressive six).
This has been Speurneus reporting ...

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Thank you Speurneus rose - please say hello to your secretary and tell him that I had the suspicion when I first looked at their team page.
It seems as if MCM was fired up initially, recruited a lot of team members, and then lost interest. With 'recruited' I mean talked to his circle of people - not necessarily recruiting for a bonus for which you found evidence he has not done. The team has several heavy producers, but they seem not to care much about anything team related. There is also an influx of new members over the years.
So your findings don't surprise me, Speurneus.
It's OK and all right - the results roll in anyhow cool

I wonder, would you please ask your secretary - whom I know to be a very knowledgeable man - if the authors of 'The Unductchables' are correct in .... never mind, Speurneus, it has xxxx in it. I'm sure you are friendly toward these animals, but you never know the other way around. I'll take the question somewhere else where you don't have to deal with it smile
Thank you very much for your information - albeit expectedly depressing, but not uninteresting at all, because this way we all get to know more aspects of WCG

Bienvenu adriverhoef !

En ce moment, je crunch pour avoir le Ruby du MCM. Que je n'ai pas les même machines que vous.

Mais, une grande question : Est-ce que c'est ton chien sur la photo ?

Welcome adriverhoef!

Right now, I'm crunching for the MCM Ruby. That I do not have the same machines as you.

But, a big question: Is this your dog on the picture?
