--------- I would not talk about Macron here, not want to mess this up. (You can watch the last shares I made on Facebook, if you really care) As for Louloup, he needs it! I had a hard time accepting that, that I must 'be the boss', to make him feel good. And yet, it's true. To impose on him many rules is the best way to love him. And, it's a bit silly, but it may have been more difficult for me than for him. ![]() |

I tried to look at your Facebook shares, stefada.
Do you know what? I would say that even if I was fluent in French, I would understand very little because I don't have the background - what's going on in France on a daily basis. But please tell me: What it is they have thrown on the steps to the Town Hall in Nantes? As to Louloup I think you're on the right track, and it seems to be what Louloup says as well.

---------- But tell me please: what did they throw on the steps of the city hall of Nantes? All the remains of the tear gas canisters fired on those who occupied the ZAD. An area where it was planned to make an airport, while it is an eco-system to preserve. And there was a big mobilization. That lasts for months, and allowed that even Macron, cancels the project of the airport. Another nonviolent answer, but full of symbolism. When we disagree, that's the government's answer. Swing lachrymos. Those who take them every day, have simply returned them. But I reassure you, it's fortunately not just that France. The picture who made question : ![]() Sorry, not here to do politic ... Just answer. Whe are here to crunch, so GO ! ![]() |

Thanks for sharing Stefada. Most news in the world never makes it to the media here. America really has no idea what really goes on elsewhere and our media is too busy creating fake news and spreading lies to report in the real events both here and abroad.

Congratulations to the protesters who succeeded in making the decisionmakers change their minds. What a lot of tears they must have shed, stefada – even as the most seasoned threw the tear gas back to where it came from.
I agree with you, acpartsman, coverage of foreign events in the news was not all that educating in my time. Good Afternoon Base Campers! We entered Maine somewhat noisily … This is the points graph; it could be any of the three. Not much is still standing – well, it looks as if a steamroller did something ![]() This crew ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() means business – and we just got stronger after BladeD joined us. You may not know, but he’s an expert at attacking black flies before they attack us. Well, we woke up to a splendid morning with a westerly breeze wafting the black flies inland and blessing us with the fresh fragrance of the Atlantic. We’ll cross the Casco Bay Bridge grab some coffee and sandwiches and – because we are up this early – set out on what Casco Bay Lines call a ’Sunrise on the Bay Cruise’. ![]() They promise us a peaceful dawn departure through the awakening islands where we can observe sea birds, seals, and an occasional deer along the shoreline and watch the lobstermen and the local fishing fleet as they get underway from their docks and moorings. They say they will provide narration with 10 or more passengers – and we are eight already. ![]() Back on shore we’ll linger in the maritime world by visiting Portland Observatory. It is the only remaining historic maritime signal station in the US. In 1807 ships entering Portland Harbor could not be seen from the city's docks until they were almost upon them. Lemuel Moody, sea-captain turned entrepreneur, capitalized on the situation by erecting an 86-foot high tower that allowed incoming sailing ships to be identified from 30 miles away, signaling the arrival of their vessels with a system of colored flags. ![]() From the very top of this quaint structure we have a lovely panoramic view. Time for a authentic Maine Lobster Bake – I hope none of you are allergic to crustaceans, because that's what we feed on in Maine for a large part. ![]() We head north. When you say Freeport you have to say L.L.Bean. ![]() Even as I try to keep travel and shopping separate, I’ll make an exception. Let's see if we can find that outdoors clothing and footwear we always wished we have had. And dressed in our new acquisitions we’ll hike a trail in Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park and find the very best site to pitch our tents and start a camp fire. Scorched marshmallows, anyone? Pssst …. Bring a present tomorrow – it’s acpartsman’s birthday |

And the 21st was my mother....she would have been 100. 100 years ... that's a lot. ![]() Did your mother stay in Mississippi when you went north? My Dad was 101 on the 12th but died at 60, my mother would have been 98 come the 28th. Their grandfathers were brothers, so I'm kind of an inbred, which takes care of some explaining. |
