Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Rush hour considered my trip to the regional hospital went well and I was monitored closely by appartus and three men, the driver of the ambulance included.

Arriving I was placed in the corridor - they had too many patients for everybody's good, but a space popped up as one patient was moved to another city. Unisex room, TV, and phone talk. Well. I'm not nailed down for life.

Upstairs Yvonne brougt a good deal of essentials - above all my phone charger.
I was able to play word game all the way. Tonight I shall hopefully be able to crunch.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Sounds like you're making progress.
Where I live the worst weather comes from the south. Twice in the past month the weather man has called for about 1" and both times we've gotten clobbered with 5 - 8" in about 12 hours combined with temps in the low 20's. I know that's not much compared to a lot of areas around the world, the problem here is VDOT doesn't really have enough equipment to keep roads cleared when it comes that fast and heavy and people don't have enough sense to stay home and most of the ones out and about have no idea how to drive in it. And as I've seen in most places people think because they have 4WD they can drive normal, they don't understand 4WD doesn't change the vehicles contact patch.
Hope everyone has a great day, off to work I go. cool

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Thank you, I think I feel even i better than before that event and shall go home come Monday. I have been very lucky and have benefitted from so much good care.

You have a bad winter, and I certainly remember TV-reports from Washington, D. C. snow driving. Once I was caught among all Hartford, CT, people fleeing. I should not laugh, but couldn't help it. Fantastic what people can get rearwheel drives to do.

Thankfully you're getting better, mevrouw Kleine Zeemeermin.
Once you mentioned that you're a "poor sleeper". I guess you'll be needing much more sleep these days and it's much easier now for you to say "Ik heb geen zin om op te staan" (I don't feel much like getting up) and it's better to stay "in de bedstee m'n liefste" (in bed my darling) for een klein tijdje (a little while).

Mevrouw computerrepairwoman and my friend from team top40.nl also wish you a steady recovery. love struck

I have joined you folks at Hungary.

Thank you very much, TLD. Nice to be team mates again after all those years rose

adriverhoef and Friends, thank you for caring. I look forward to some quality sleep. I also look forward to resume all of my activities and hope to travel again. A blood clot killed my father, many years ago when treatments were considerably less developed, so I may be genetically disposed.

Have you been affected by the windstorm in the Netherlands, Adri?

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

The storm — named "Friederike" in Germany — that raged all across the Netherlands didn't affect us, little mermaid, luckily. But the rooftop of the garages opposite us (10x20 m²) was blown off yesterday.
Friederike travelled fast over to Germany and Poland, killing 2 people in the Netherlands and 6 in Germany. See this BBC-report and this Daily Star-report.

- Rooftops are simply blown away.
- Containers, lorries, ferryboats, nothing is safe.
- A woman with a baby buggy has all the luck in the world.
