Good Morning Base Campers!
I'm sorry for the length of this, but we have a certain amount of shop talk to deal with. Charity Challenge 2012 for Musketeer Peluche turned out to be a challenge in more ways than one, so much so that Mom called it off because you cried and she did, too. She also fumed some ... Because some of you - especially EVGA crunchers/folders picked up the glove and went on duelling and wan the match, it kind of remained on by voting with feet. However, we started - head over heels - a parallel Trek to Kyuuninkai Task Force. This team has been the runner up in two votes, so it was ready for picking. So let's try to untangle the knitting yarn the cat ran off with: Trek #33 Crunching@EVGA is officially over, and jan649, little mermaid, RAMMIE, sunfolk and tanner2 left the the camp at East River, NYC, cswchan, dl1000v, GTCola2010 I still don't know if he's Base Camping or move in as permanent member and T.G.Wakko have become delegates to the UN General Assembly. TLD put up a vote for the badge - you have three to choose from, all of them designed by NAP2614. Funny enough, some of the EVGA crunchers/folders get to vote for this badge, because they registered as Base Campers in our Castle. Outpost Trek #3 - well that was a tough cookie to crunch, so to speak. The worst part was that it was not thought through, I had not asked the right questions and time was short: We were poorly prepared and that led to frustration and gnashing of teeth. However, some are crunching these WUs - some are monters lasting 200 hours plus - with a certain kind of delight, and I'm glad we can honour the commitment I made to Musketeer Stoned Concrete Tiger to chip in for Peluche this way. The Trek is running until January 28. Details can be found at Base Camp Castle/Where we're at. Do remember to leave a note about you participating so you'll receive your badge at the end of the Trek, because we have no way of telling as most of you crunch under Peluche's account. For registered Base Campers, you leave a post in the Trek Master thread in The Igloo 2. For visiting EVGAs and others we have a thread in The Grafitti Wall. From there your listing will go inside to the Trek Master thread. Trek #34 was launched yesterday by me without consulting anyone and without it being debated or voted for. Please forgive me. I was not all that balanced, but I don't regret anything, and we need to have a Trek where all can use their RAMs no matter how many or few. deltavee, little mermaid, NAP2614, Punchy@BC, sunfolk, tanner2 and TLD joined here already, and Geokaymayoc likes it, I think. Participating Base Campers will be listed in the Trekmaster thread from where TLD will deal the badges at the end of the Trek. Also here we have a Grafitti Wall thread where unregistered participants can post for their badges. We need some coffee, I think - maybe even camomile tea I Got a Right to Sing the Blues But I also have a right to be happy: Base Camp has had an invasion of new Base Campers. Please welcome: Punchy, yodap, Viper97 all Crunching@EVGA crunchers/folders und SEARCHER, der in Deutschland lebst. ![]() |

Good Afternoon Base Campers!
----------------------------------------Today has been calm. Outpost Trek #3 I think still gives some problems for the EVGA crunchers - we established they are crunchers as opposed to folders - who chew on the monster WUs; some have no problems, others do and contemplate killing them because the estimates say they will not finish until after The Charity Challenge Race 2012 does, and they did not set up the 2013 one yet. However, SEARCHER, our new German Base Camper has insight into the project and he posts primarily in the Charity Challenge Trek 2012 - News thread in our Castle/The Igloo 2. Have new EVGAs taken up the challenge? If so, please make yourself known on The Grafitti Wall so you can have the badge. Trek #34 with Team Kyuuninkai Task Force is running nicely. We are 8 remaining crunchers after TLD exhaustedly limped home. It was a good thing, Geokaymayoc gave his carte blanche to outcrunch whatever we met, because both deltavee and tanner2 have done just that already. We had a new Base Camper this morning. I am an unbelievably trusting person, so of course I opened the gate to our Castle and bade welcome. Always act first and ask later. My research suggested he was not a cruncher, so I escorted him out again, locking the gate behind him, but allowed him the chance to explain himself if he wants to crunch for real. USAFA 82, you said you would wish our Castle would sound some kind of alarm when a PM waiting for you. Sorry, pinky says it cannot be done. If you use Internet Explorer, tho, it will feel as if the entire Castle falls on you. But I can of course put a message up in your team thread, as I'm seeing you're in need of that traffic cop again, and, besides, I do free lance travel agency work there .... so, as long as the pay is less than nothing, I'll do it. Civilzation muskie32 and I both found good number crunching pics to be seen at Crunching@EVGA team thread Crunching@EVGAs team thread - and here is a third which I was still not old enough to post at the EVGA Forum: ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 18, 2012 4:09:07 AM] |
