Current daily records to break Last night's daily numbers have been artificially very high, simply because they include 9 hours of results which could not be returned the day before due to the maintenance of the servers. So it is a good opportunity to state the current WCG Global Daily Records. Here they are: The current record for the total of points validated in a single day is ----> 250,096,299 points <---- validated on Tuesday June 23, 2009. Looks like that one fell on 7/8/09 >> 296,811,776 [of course then, server issues helped on the 8th of July. . . .] . . . let's see if we can set new [for real] ones on 24-26July! Looks like that one fell on 7/8/09 >> 296,811,776 [of course then, server issues helped on the 8th of July. . . .] As said in the quote (dated July 9) if you really want to consider 296,811,776 points as a record let's say it is the official record for a 33-hour day.  Opportunities to beat it are not too frequent so it should last long. But if you succeed in breaking the official one at 250,096,299 points on this time of the year that will be a real achievement. My team will do as much as it can as usual, even if our Team Captain has not joined your challenge: we have no members to pull from other grids. Good luck. Jean. |

Summer is finished, WCG records are broken!!! With some valuable help from Mr Kermit's clusters WCG records have been broken again yesterday. Yesterday Monday September 21, 2009 WCG crunchers have set new daily points and runtime records and went on raising the 7-day and 30-day indicators. Autumn is starting well. Congratulations and many thanks to all active WCG crunchers for these achievements! . The new record for the total of points validated in a single day is ----> 258,500,002 points. <---- The previous one was 250,096,299 points dated June 23, 2009. The new record for runtime is ----> 313 years and 180 days of runtime. <---- The previous one was 307 years and 233 days of runtime dated June 23, 2009. The current record for the number of results is still ----> 485,097 results <---- validated on the "old" servers on Monday February 18, 2008. The current record on the new servers is still ----> 470,098 results <---- validated on Tuesday June 23, 2009. The new best ever for the last-seven-days indicator is ----> 1,689,709,172 points <---- validated from September 15 to September 21, 2009, i.e. an average 241,387,025 points per day over this period. And the new record for the last-thirty-days indicator is ----> 6,971,647,024 points <---- validated from August 23 to September 21, 2009, i.e. an average 232,388,234 points per day over this period. |

The current record for the number of results is ----> 491,286 results <---- validated on Monday November 2, 2009. The latest best ever for the seven-consecutive-days indicator is ----> 1,841,772,259 points <---- validated from December 2 to December 8, 2009, i.e. an average 263,110,322 points per day over this period. And the latest thirty-consecutive-days indicator is ----> 7,591,573,473 points <---- validated from November 9 to December 8, 2009, i.e. an average 253,052,449 points per day over this period. |

At last, a new daily record!
----------------------------------------Thanks to the usual Monday release of many Pending Validation work units and to MrKermit currently offering his tremendous crunching power to WCG we have a new daily record to celebrate and a best 7-day total for the fourth time in a row. With 332 years and 7 days another record was close to be broken, but maybe that will happen later this week. The new record for the total of points validated in a single day is ----> 284,570,163 points <---- validated on Monday January 18, 2010. The previous one was 276,529,585 points dated November 2, 2009. The current record for runtime is still ----> 333 years and 209 days of runtime <---- validated on Monday November 2, 2009. The current record for the number of results is still ----> 491,286 results <---- validated on Monday November 2, 2009. The new best ever for the seven-consecutive-days indicator is ----> 1,910,417,796 points <---- validated from January 12 to January 18, 2010, i.e. an average 270,732,898 points per day over this period. The best ever for the seven-consecutive-days indicator is ----> 1,912,394,354 points <---- validated from January 13 to January 19, 2010, i.e. an average 273,199,193 points per day over this period. So the new target is to reach 300 Million points in a day. The new target is anything >= 291,882,443 WCG points. A la Bubka.  Let's not shoot all our bullets on the same day And we have to remember that our last records have been set while MrKermit could be in. When he has contracts to support all his hardware we have to compensate for 7-8 million points. |
