It's diving the reefs time of year for the next three months in South OZ. Lots of fresh Blue Crabs, Abalone & the occational moment to be had. Cheers all... I'll take a box of fresh crab ... please! I thought nelsoc would have that teleport plug in sorted by now, could send them live & wriggling.  Oi....... no fair having fun whilst it's winter up here......... Not burning enough CO2 in Indiana Rick? We got it sorted here! More CO2 = Less Winter = More Fishing.  I concur ... but we will have our day in the spring whil'st he moves into winter.  Cheers Base Campers! Just laugh at me in a couple of months whence I just can't face any more fresh fish & blue crabs! And yes, I'll start whining 'bout the heat... Greetings MOTley crew and Base Campers!!!! I left the Bay Area at ~03:00 this morning and had the road to myself so I let the Saleen stretch its legs.
---------------------------------------- After such a beautiful Thanksgiving day, it was a shock to find it was 30.4F (-1C) at the house .... burrrrrrrr! Now the woodstove is roaring and critters have arranged themselves around it. Bad news! One of the dual core machines died while I was away.  I haven’t had time to diagnose it yet but it looks like the CPU is dying. It boots but then shuts down after about two minutes when the core temp gets to ~50C. The machine is still on, the hard drive still runs but the screen goes blank and it drops the router connection. So I’m guessing CPU. It’s hard to diagnose anything in the two minutes its running. (Any ideas Teammates?) Bummer as this machine was only 5-months old. My points will be down a bit. I will have to decide whether to attempt to fix it or replace it. Then ... opened the email to find my electric bill went up $91.00 after the addition of the last machine. YIKES!!! We have “tiers” here (I have tears!) so the more you use the more expensive it gets. Altruism is certainly getting expensive!!!!“Zelda” hung its self on an electrical cord while I was away. It must have missed me. No damage done though. WOW Base Campers!!! You guys have helped a lot!!!!  Ady, how many Cray super computers are you running?  Thanks everyone!Well, I will have to get a forklift to unload the leftovers my friends sent home with me. I will be eating “high on the hog” (and turkey) for a month. Cheers all. |

Great going folks! Sorry to hear about the processor. Hope it turns out to be simple, but sure does sound ominous  I moved all of my cords away from Cedric's reach. Now the only problem I have is one place where I have a table leg that is almost horizontal tha slopes down very gradually. Cedric likes to get himself wedged under it. Most of the time, he manages to extracate himself, but occasionally, he can't quite make it out. Still working on tryptophan here. Not even the strong coffee I brew combats it. Went to one of my sons and had Thanksgiving dinner with them and my ex-wife. She cooked and it was every bit as good as I remember her cooking.
