Addendum -----buy it before the daily offers change around noon tomorrow and it's only £96.

http://www.scan.co.uk/todayonly/

Personally I would buy a P35 board and a Q6600 smile

Oh, the raptor is there too for £125.

Re: Courine the bump thread's not working - How about a Geek Forum?

cheers vaio

If it's 96 today maybe 85 by the end of next week biggrin

sticking it out on the hardware front

I think I'll get the case first then probably the Corsair DDR2 Memory afterwards.

Looking at one of these (It should last me quite a while)

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-071-AN

It comes with one of these installed

http://www.nexfan.com/antec-power-supply-tp3-...mm-fan-4xsata-24-pin.html

85% efficiency rebadged seasonic design

The first Phenom's probably won't turn up until after Christmas so plenty of time yet for the internals for this case to change/get cheaper

Thanks for the link though I'll keep it in mind

Re: Courine the bump thread's not working - How about a Geek Forum?

I'd get a Solo and a Corsair supply smile

But then I'm poor so any quad I get will have to make do with a recycled noisy 80mm fan case crying

That's the logic behind the Titan Case

You get a great PSU and a great Case for the price of the Corsair PSU wink

Just enough HD space too for all those SATA's

Portions of the post brought to you by Intel. With the prices on processors like the Q6600 so low, have you driven an Intel lately?

If you have a router uplinked from the DSL modem, I believe you can add up to 254 IP addresses. At least my cable>router works that way.
It would be pretty hard for me to run out of ports at home.
At work, I have 3 load balancing routers and 10x24 port switches (6 with ethernet + power so I don't need power bricks for each phone) to handle all the computers and VOIP phone system.

Thanks Cargod01

Yes, I just needed to order more "parts and pieces". I always seem to be out of something ... machines ... ports ... KVM cables ... electrical connections ... etc. The only thing I have too much of is heat!!!!

Not since that 733Mhz P111 on a 815 Chipset with VooDoo3 Graphics - although a Core 2 sits in Em's Macbook (I had no choice wink)

Holding out now to go straight from nForce2 to 7

Then it will be time to retire old trusty A7N8X-Deluxe he'll be 5 in November shock

Go wireless. 802.11g routers are almost free. Just make sure that it supports WEP2 encryption. If you follow the destructions and set up properly, it should be as secure as a hardwired connection.

I use a 4-port router and hang switches off of each of the ports for different locations. I even have one old router cascaded off one of the switches - didn't want to run another cable. This works fine for internet access but you need some special kung fu to do networking/file sharing off of the cascaded router. Never got that figured out.
