Are you aware that Google has implemented free phone calls for Gmail users? Install a small browser plug-in and it integrates with Google Voice. Try it out here:

Did you know that you can save a search string in Windows 7? It’s really helpful if you commonly search for one kind of item on your hard drive, so you don’t have to go typing it in every time.
Here’s how you do it. First, open up Windows Explorer. You can either click Start>Computer, or type in Windows Explorer in your Search Box located above the Start button. In the upper-right had portion of the Windows Explorer window, you’ll see a box where you can type your search in. I typed in jpeg, to search for all the jpeg files on my computer. (obviously you can use your own search term). In the upper-right had portion of the Windows Explorer window, you’ll see a box where you can type your search in. I typed in jpeg, to search for all the jpeg files on my computer. (obviously you can use your own search term). Once your results pop up, click the Save search button, which is located on the left side of the Windows Explorer window. Another windows will pop up and ask you to name your saved search. I just click Save Now you’ll see your saved search under the Favorites section in the left column of Windows Explorer. You can click on it at anytime to automatically start your custom search! |

God Mode" tip for Windows 7 (32-bit only) users: simply make a folder on your desktop and name it
"GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}". (Copy & paste exactly what's inside the quote marks.) That folder will then contain every Windows setting, all in the same place. No more digging through multiple control panel apps |

Did you know that you can convert .PDF documents to Word documents for free on the web?, I can recommend a website to you. This website is http://www.pdftoword.com/. It's entirely free and each time that you want to convert a PDF to Word, OpenOffice etc, you simply go on the site, upload the document, select PDF or RTF and put in your email address. You will then be sent the resulting document. They also have a download-able version but if you don't need to use it all the time, just bookmark the site and come back to it as and when you need it.
If you want to get the text from the PDF in Notepad format then you can simply download the '.doc' file and then copy and paste it into Notepad. The great thing about http://www.pdftoword.com/ is that it also converts images very accurately. Here is what the company says about this on the homepage "Our PDF-to-Word converter is designed to convert and accurately re-position all of these upon conversion. Even for complex drawings and shapes with textures, patterns, and fills, we replicate the images, while maintaining editing capabilities." Other tools available on the site are http://www.wordtopdf.com/ (the opposite of what we've just done). This will be useful if you are considering changing the content and then putting it back into PDF format later on. They also have a tool which converts PDF into Microsoft Excel readable format which would be useful for saving time copying from the PDF when it can just be scanned. This can be found at http://www.pdftoexcelonline.com/. If you would prefer a program that you can download to your desktop, HelloPDF might be for you. This will also extract images for you but does not look as advanced as the PDFtoWord site that we spoke about earlier on. The download is small at just over 1MB and is unlikely to cause your computer to go slow, even if you have a really old one. If this is at all confusing, HelloPDF has tutorials on its site here which can guide you step by step to converting your PDF. |

I use this program every day; I think you'll find it irreplaceable, too. It adds "Copy Path to Clipboard" to files' right-click menu. Click it after you find the file and then you don't have to negotiate endless dialog boxes when you open or save a file. It's great for uploading photos to the web, too. Free download.
