Re: crying crying crying Corn and Red Potato Salad crying crying crying

I gave up my Community Admin Hat when I finally realised that I was banging my head against a very well made brick wall
Dave

Hey Dave its Dataman!!! So did I ... I recall that Lawrence, you and I were the first three CA's on the first project? I see Lawerence is hanging on. At least you stuck with WCG. I took a 2 year "holiday". I came back to WCG last April and am crunching away and agitating over the graphic issue with DDDT. Good to see that you are around. My best!!

Hiya Old Timer

Dataman really great to hear from you again - I thought we had lost you for good.

Keep on agitating

As you see I'm still a pain in the derrière wink

Glad you are back. Lawrence is still giving his all as is Dave Bell again which is great news

Dave

Good to year from you too Dave. Yes, I did disappear suddenly. If you remember I went away for the holidays to ski in Tahoe. My “project plan” did not include hitting a tree <G>. I received some empirical data that indeed “two masses cannot occupy the same space/time”. I spent some time in hospital and when the superglue dried, I just never got back to the Grid. But I am back now and I am impressed about how it has evolved structurally. Same old “wars” in the forums though ... some things never change.

It looks like Lawrence is away ... I think I will drop him a note when I seem him online.

Take care buddy and keep in touch. <dataman>

Re: crying crying crying Corn and Red Potato Salad crying crying crying

they might be well aware of the possiblities

Over the past few months, the available data has been transferred to NFCR and analyzed by our science project leaders. The extremely large quantity of data holds great potential for identifying new drug candidates, and at the same time, poses an immense challenge for further data analysis.

NFCR has provided additional research funding to support further collaborative projects between the University of Oxford and InhibOx, a spinoff company of the University of Oxford specialized in database, software, and methodology development and computational drug discovery, to analyze available data related to two of the twelve original cancer targets – CDK2 and FGF. The objective of these collaborations is to identify, with the technical assistance of InhibOx, a subset of several hundred molecules for further experimental testing.

but continuing a relationship that they had with dr. richards is a far cry from starting one with wcg. tell me where is the link between ud/dr. richards and wcg that makes you think the nfcr should support us when AFAIK nfcr didn't supoport dr. foran (his funding was NIH) and there's no new cancer project as yet.

i'll refrain from asking when the next one will start up seeing you're not a CA anymore. i wouldn't want to give you flashbacks wink laughing

i'm not questioning the goodness of the match, we're a good match for the american cancer society too and they're roughly a little more than 6xs as big in terms of gross dollar intake than nfcr. personally if it was me, i'd like to actually have a cancer project rock in my sling went i did swing it. we wouldn't want to shoot blanks now would we? tongue shock biggrin

Re: crying crying crying Corn and Red Potato Salad crying crying crying

fair do's Vavega

but I'm just asking for the NFCR to include a URL in their newsletter to the WCG. Think how many of their newsletter recipients might start crunching

and..

Who knows Dr Richards might follow up the potential offered here and we might get a Cancer Project in our sling

and..

Who knows how many peoples quality of life might be improved as a result.

Surely that is worth pursuing over and above the benefits to those peoples lives of Corn and Red Potato Salad.

I think so anyway

Dave

I'm OK now. The tree broke more limbs than I did. Just another reminder that my mind is younger than my body <G>. I'm going to take up a safer sport ... like racing motorcycles on ice. <hahaha>.
