Larry, try increasing the size of your virtual memory to give Boinc the memory it wants. Thing will run a little slower, but they will run. The exact instructions on how to do this vary depending on the OS you are using.

HOHOHO JAMES MY LAD!

This could be my very problem.
I was just ready to go back to UD.

I'll look into it.

Olivia, unless you only have 128M in that laptop of yours, Boinc should love that machine of yours. If you have having performance problems, it's probably because of other programs running. If Boinc doesn't want to run at all, then we need to check a few things to see what is going on.

Here is a very nice replacement for the default task manager which will tell us what is slowing down your computer: process explorer

Welcome Rogertemp and thanks for the assist.

Found some RAM for one and the other enlarge virtual memory, but looks like I made to many request for this day. Maybe tomorrow it will start working again.

Re: Christians are giving... come give with us!

James I am so happy to be reunited with my ProcessExplorere.
Jean Pierre gave me that years ago and with changes of computers, it got lost.
Well did I do a hosing tonight!

I wish I could say that it lowed my temperature but it didn't.
I also set my virtual memory at 3000 - 3000 (thereabouts)

I am really bare-bones, as far as I can see so far.
Still looking, though.

I'd like to get rid of Norton and it's baggage. It's doing a good job but I won't renew it.

I was always happy with the free ones.
Hey. Goodnight and thanks alot.

Hey Olivia,

Norton is a good product but yes it's a tad bloated. You can get AVG Free for anti-virus. As for a firewall, I always used Zone Alarm but some people don't like it (not customizable enough for advanced users). Sekerob always recommended Kerio Firewall but I don't think they have a free one anymore.

Sekerob thinks yes it's still free and now called Sunbelt (Kerio) Personal Firewall: http://www.sunbelt-software.com/Home-Home-Office/Sunbelt-Personal-Firewall/ . Actually upgraded for the laptops to the more featured paid for version USD 19.95 10.00atm and 2 years USD 29.95 19.98). You need a well configurable proper software firewall if going into wifi hotspots, when mobile.

Alwil Avast is my favorite antivir. Test others, lately Avira, but went back to what i know works and always gets hi ratings.

Re: Christians are giving... come give with us!

I did it again, I woke up with a question on my mind. I know what most folks will say, but I do not find it in the words of the bible.
Please just think about this and I am not looking for a posting about it.
Here is the Question.

When we pray to God, does the word say anywhere that God say "No" to our prayer with out a reason.
Prayer is not answer because of something that is not a right that blocks the prayer.
Does this mean we can pray for anything and receive it, "NO"
If it is sinful it will be blocked and not heard. The list goes on of the things that will block prayer.
