Same here in KY with UD. I guess we can give our computers a break until the problems are solved.

Hi Owlbet, Uplinger slept late today (It's Sunday) but he is looking at the UD server now. Lawrence Thank you for the update. Four agents out of five have communicated with the mother ship and are now happily crunching. The fifth agent is at a remote location and for now I'll presume it's crunching, too. ![]() |

Howdy,
The servers appear to have needed a restart after the backup. We are looking into why this was needed. The servers are running at 100% capacity right now trying to catch up. We are sorry about the inconvenience and thank you for your patience. -Uplinger |

Hello gooplix,
ps what wud be the consequences or runnig both the boinc and UD agent simultaniosly btw?? Depends on your computer. If it can only run 1 thread at a time, then it might share equal times between BOINC and UD, if both are set to operate at 100% throttle. But if the UD throttle is less than 100% it will cut back to try to leave the CPU idle for the specified percentage, even if it hardly runs at all. It is really inefficient to run both unless you have a multi-core or multi-CPU system. Even then you get some inefficiency from dual graphics packages, etc. It can be done, but it is not encouraged. Hello All,
I am having the same problem....only 1 machine out of the 6 I have running the agent are working...they all worked for the last month without a hitch. There should be a way to manually download a work unit to kick to application in the head. Any news if this is a server problem or client? Rod |

Hello anywidget,
If you read all the thread, you will see that we had a server problem (cause unknown). Now that Uplinger has restarted the UD server, it is working at 100% load sending and receiving to get everybody going again. Lawrence |

UD agent working again ps what wud be the consequences or runnig both the boinc and UD agent simultaniosly btw??I just installed BOINC on a machine this morning that had a UD WU running. They will run simultaniosly. I cannot comment on the overall consequences but it "appears" one is running a WU on one processor and the other a WU on the other. I plan to shut down the UD agent when it completes its WU and let BOINC grab the other processor. I hope this helps ... <dataman> ![]() |
