Re: Lets talk about beer

Due mostly in part to this thread, over the weekend I tried the following brews:

Grolsch Premium Lager(Holland)- really nice
Pilsner Urquell - the original Pilsner(Czech Rep.) - very nice
Stella Artois(Belgium) - its ok
DAB (Dortmunder Actien-Brauerei)(Germany) - not bad
Wafteiner Premium Verum(Germany) - nice

I found they are all quite similar to Canadian beers, though maybe a bit more flavourful with a more distinguished colour.

The German beers came after I had a few other beers so I will buy them again and try them individually. It may not have been a very fair taste test! biggrin

rose Lets laugh about beer

Hi all you Beer Heads!
This week the (Scuttlebutt) Brewery that has been
Brewing A wonderful Signature Ale (Private Stock) has
Run to the last Kegs for This Years Batches and is selling some to the Public.
The Best part is what I discovered at the Brewery. (1/2 Growler Jugs)
They will sell you half gallon Jugs to take home! Right from the Tap!
For my first "Gallon" I tried the above mentioned beer.
The Beer is a dark brown Ale . The Brewers called it "the Nut Brown"
This is a Wonderful Beer; creamy and thick with a pronounced and
almost Sweet Nutty after taste.
The head on my second (the first was quickly quaffed) Mug stayed tall
for as long as I watched it. (4-5 min). The real recommendation for this
fine Beer is that after drinking Both Jugs, I tried to bump my Teams Thread
and missed it and "accidentally" posted (a new thread) right in the Team Forum.
*HIC* Now That's Good Beer!

rose Lets brag about Beer!

Thanks FreeBee
Yes I was Feeling the Glow if Good Beer!
And I got NO hang over!

Yeah, you were quite pissed last night... But boy, did we have fun!laughing -FreeBee

Tonights Fair is Another Jug of the Nut Brown Ale and
another New one to me that they Don't Bottle..
It is an IPA. Called "Scuttlebutt IPA"
Look Good??

Of course the Nut Brown is on the right.
The Nut Brown is so far my Fav next to Guinness Extra Stout.
Now the IPA is as good as I have had anywhere!
On first sip it completely invades the mouth and gently gains your attention! Eventually tickling the sides of your tongue with a light sting to the Tip. Not over powering like a Grolsch. But with a pleasant
and lasting Aftertaste. But Like Grolsch I would recommend it with Beef
or Spicy Meals. They have more flavors so I'll be at them again.
Another perk is that the Brewery also has Great Food!!
I had no idea! I suppose we'll have to start a Food Thread now. LOL
Happy Boozing!
