Note 7 is self-evident and not useful. Note 7 would be useful if it said what speed of machine gives the number of hours listed in the column.

(Note: Data for slowish machine. Most other projects are relatively stable, but Rice grows all the time. It starts using <7MB RAM and gets to 75MB at the end. Does it use larger and larger (unlimited?) amounts of RAM on faster machines?) |

kremmen,
----------------------------------------we discussed in backroom this morning the potential of memory leaks and it was confirmed, so any figures this moment are not of much use. Top RAM I've seen (including others reporting) is 307mb and VM 318mb so knreed is actually upping the min.req to ensure that machines get the work that can handle it. See here for current items identified on new project. Please report there of any technical issues. thanks

Now, that's tiny. Wonder if it'd run on my 386 with 16MB RAM? :) |

If the right OS is on it, but note that 6.13 topped out per a JmBoullier post at 24mb RAM. If it runs in less, that will obviously cause VM use and there are many checkpoints to save to disk in those fixed 8 hours. Just for that I've set the Write to Disk at 600 seconds.
----------------------------------------The Result file sizes are highly variable depending on device, complexity of job and more. Seen now from 404k to 1,030mb on the same host.

Hi all,
I would very much like to see a blown-up picture or link of that so I know how you calculated what and stuff like that. Also then would also like to contribute/add my stats to the same. Thanx. |

Updated the matrix, in top post:
----------------------------------------- New HFCC project info - Newly announced mean run times. - Due days - Some technical information refined Changes are either from observation or announcement so it will be at times out of step with the latest information. Treat it thus as a guide. See something wrong; tell it here.

See something wrong; tell it here. Just a minor one: in note 7 the duration of Rice units needs to be updated. Maybe directly to 7 hours if the announced general change applies to Rice too? Thanks for keeping this huge chart up-to-date. Jean. |

Hi Sekerob,
----------------------------------------This computer is used by my 13 year old daughter, it has 3 x 80gb HDDs!!! AND her documents are kept on a server (I should move the Boinc data to one of the other drives). As you can see it actually wants 200mb. I freed up a 2gb of space by uninstalling an old game. 3/13/2009 11:26:18 AM|World Community Grid|Finished upload of faah5380_004958_MC_xmdEq_1BDQ_02_0_3 3/13/2009 12:19:16 PM|World Community Grid|Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. Confirmed petehardy, in line with what the table says in the Project Storage column value for HCC. What it wants is not what it uses. It's a safety in case a model in progress grows bigger than normal.
----------------------------------------Jean, rephrased note 7. Generalised it... less to check, and miss, when updating table :D
