I have often experienced the following error when trying to do a search on this bulletin board (and I'm getting it again now). I get the following notice:
"The error messsage is: Cannot find the row in table Post where primary key = (7072)." I have used the Contact Us link to report this a few times, but have never received an email back from an administrator, so I do not know if this is being addressed. |

MNTechnoGuy,
----------------------------------------Can you give me the search criteria that you were using for the search and the exact actions you took to generate the error? Also - if anyone else experiences this error - please post in this thread the search and steps you took to generate the error. Thanks, knreed [Edit 2 times, last edit by knreed at Jan 14, 2005 2:49:29 PM] |

Knreed,
I was searching by Member Name, using my member name, "MNTechnoGuy." I am getting the same error now. |

I can confirm that this is the case but only when using MNTechnoGuy. (notice the period/full stop at the end). If you use MNTechnoGuy on its own, I cannot get it to fail.
----------------------------------------I guess that this is a failure condition which does not have a user friendly error message, something like:
Not that you cannot use regular expression either. This means that you cannot search for MNTechn*. You can use regexp (limited) in the Text to Search box. This means that you can enter
which will find any post that has Dav, Dave, David etc [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 14, 2005 8:23:42 PM] |

I have never searched with the period. The period appeared within quotes because it is proper structure for a sentence ending with a quote. I get the error when searching for "MNTechnoGuy" without a period.
----------------------------------------Edit: I have just now tried again, and get the error. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 14, 2005 8:44:29 PM] |

Ok, I have just got the same error
----------------------------------------Cannot find the row in table Post where primary key = (7072). The only way that this can be resolved is for one of the tech guys to have a look at the underlying (guessing MySQL) database schema and see why it is failing. Sorry to have thrown a red herring about the period. Stuart [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 14, 2005 8:50:28 PM] |

Hi MNTechnoGuy
----------------------------------------I have hopefully found the solution to your problem Have a look in your profile and check your Member ID Heres the link: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/myprofile I would suggest that your personal profile name may be entered as "mntechnoguy" The search function is case sensative Please try using the above in your search I tried it and it finds your posts without a problem I hope this helps Best Regards [Edit 3 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 15, 2005 11:34:43 AM] |

I would suggest that your personal profile name may be entered as "mntechnoguy" Graham, I understand what you are saying but his posting show up as MNTechnoGuy so that is what should be entered into the backend database. If there is a problem here, I would say that there is possibly something generically wrong with the search function within mvnForum 1.0.0 RC3 |

Graham,
Thanks again for your input. I do have one post as "mntechnoguy," but most of my posts have been under "MNTechnoGuy." I was able to get search results today. This is an intermittent problem. |
