Last night all went ok. Could be a problem on my side? |

Can you please go to the BOINC message tab and copy / paste about 5 lines before and after the message, so we can analyze the log:
----------------------------------------What Operating System? What BOINC version? What Project(s) are you running? I've Deleted client_state.xml and client_state_prev.xml and the problem was fixed, but only to make space for another problem. Now my client starts, but after 5 seconds goes into "not responding" mode.
I have windows vista I have the version posted on "download" on this site I was running fa@h but the project seems to be lost after the last hang up by the client. |

okay, we need not look further. Can you please visit the "Vista How To" post in the "Start Here" forum and reinstall per instruction point 1.
----------------------------------------http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=12856 After, let us know if things are fine. (Who told you btw to delete the xml files? Should not be a common practice as lots of project file information is in there). cheers

I gave that advice yesterday for a different problem. It's a fairly drastic solution, since it restores the BOINC state to the first run after installation (but leaving you attached to all your projects). You lose all work in progress, and all client state.
Zahpeter, please follow Sekerob's link and advice. |

----------------------------------------give us a howler if you need more help, but the how to post should cover more or less all there is to know to keep BOINC or WCG agent running unimpeded on Vista. ttyl

Some Vista users have found a common problem. Installing this in a separate directory instead of the default program path gets it out of the Vista security hassle.
