Re: Unable to connect WCG agent to WWW

One of the MAJOR differences between grid.org and WCG is that the WCG staff meet with the project scientist regularly - as often as once a week. Project scientists are supposed to provide status updates to the crunchers once a month (they sometimes need reminding :-S ).

I think grid.org handled HPF phase 1 very irresponsibly. HPF phase 1 ran on grid.org and WCG, and there is some doubt that the results returned by grid.org were any use at all. We know for sure that grid.org ran HPF work that had been completed long ago on their grid - they were still sending out work after the scientists had declared that the project was completed, and they had all the data they needed. When the project finished on WCG, we just crunched the final units, waited for confirmation from the scientists that everything was good, then archived the project and moved on to the next thing.

And that is how it should always be :-)
