Re: The Formula One Thread

THKS toss for that YouTube link abt what F1 was before the killing of the race we saw recently.
One can see the public of 2013 bearing ear-protections so the argument of health don't hold. Are people mature and responsible or not? so why protect them at any cost.

Re: The Formula One Thread

Is Mercedes emerging as the Red Bull of 2014?
it seems that the pilots race truly after start one or two laps to be well placed and then it's only management of tires, pit stops and
oil consumption, in order to be able to race again in the last 5 laps. Between its boring!

Re: The Formula One Thread

wink
We need refuelling back. As many Engines and Gear boxes as required without penalty. In season testing. Single qualifying session. No DRS. Start on the best tyres for the job. Enough tyres for brand new ones at every change. No comms to driver except for the Pit Board. No direct control from the pit of the car. The end of inane rules that mean when Alonso is forced to take avoiding action over a chicane he doesn't have to give the place he had to the nutter who tried to take him off (Who later took off Kimi) Penalties should be seen to be just.

It's called Formula 1 and they race for the Grand Prix. It should be a sprint in the ultimate car not a marathon agonisingly run in plimsolls

Sad. Once again the race is decided, after-the-fact, by dweebs who cannot drive. Is F1 sinking to the lows of NASCAR?

I agree. Too much technology and too many silly rules.
EDIT: Haha Dave ... I had to look up "plimsolls" ... we call them "sneakers" over here.

Re: The Formula One Thread

So no comment abt the last race; it's useless! isn't it ?
i was dreaming of revival with Mercedes taking a lead on Red Bull the progress (to be confirmed )of Force India
and some pugnacity between team dualists like Hamilton and Rosberg
The revolt must came from the pilots.

Re: The Formula One Thread

Dataman Sneakers would be luxury compared to plimsolls :-)

vicious things.

The last race was anything but Bahrain

If Mercedes allow continued racing and with Red Bull and Force India in the mix. I still have high hopes for this season.

Would just like to see Ferrari come to the party (I backed Raikkonen in the Works "Virtual" Championship along with Force India as my team and the ever reliable.. and cheap... Max Chilton as my second driver)

I thought Raikkonen would grab it by the scruff and make up for lost time.

Force India paying dividends though biggrin

China this weekend. Rosberg needs to get Hamilton out of the zone.

Looking forward to a race

Dave

Re: The Formula One Thread

@Dave: People actually buy those shoes? Looks like something only worn by the pool. wink

I stayed up late and watched P1 & P2 live. Good showing by Ferrari! I am not a fan of Hamilton but he got it together in P2. Maybe Ricarriardo will break his string of bad luck this week if the F1 judges leave him alone. I hope I can watch the race but who knows if/when NBCSP will broadcast it. confused
Cheers!
