Oats, peas, beans and barley grow,
----------------------------------------Can you or I or anyone know How oats, peas, beans and barley grow. First the farmer sows the seed, Then he stands and takes his ease, He stamps his foot and claps his hands And turns around to view his land. Oats, peas, beans and barley grow, Can you or I or anyone know How oats, peas, beans and barley grow. Waiting for a partner, Open the bean and take a risk And we will gladly dance and sing. Oats, peas beans and barley grow, Can you or I or anyone know How oats, peas, beans and barley grow. Harold please respect what the thread orginator started with Thanks [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Aug 1, 2008 11:19:14 PM] |

Hi, Jean Pierre,
The thread originator started with altered rhymes, based on those which originated before he, and probably others, left the nursery. How hve I diverted from this theme? |

The North wind doth blow and we shall have snow,
And what will poor robin do then, poor thing? He'll sit in a barn and keep himself warm and hide his head under his wing, poor thing. |

Cobbler, cobbler, mend my shoe,
Have it done by halfpast two: If you don't my mother will say, "Cobbler, cobbler, go away." |

Thirty days has September,
April, June and November. All the rest have thirty-one, Saving February alone, Which has twenty-eight, rain or shine. And on leap years, twenty-nine! |

A scouser lass known as "Our Mairy"
Sold goosegogs outside of the dairy. When asked, "What are they Whack?" She would just answer back, "They're like gear little plums, only hairy." |

Horsey horsey don't you stop
Just let your feet go clippetty clop The tail goes swish and the wheels go round Giddy up, we're homeward bound. |

We used to dance to that one - it was known as "the Palais Glide."
----------------------------------------Horsey, keep your tail up, keep your tail up, keep your tail up, Oh, Horsey, keep your tail up - why don't you make it rise. Tell me how you get that way;you mean ye and say, "Neigh neigh" Oh, Horsey, keep your tail up - keep the sun out of my eyes. Many happy returns of yesterday, Jean Pierre - but without the injuries.
