Hi all--
Just wanted to say that as a member of Team Christians, despite my best intentions, I have not been much help in the points department. This past Monday, I turned on my Dell 4600 PC and -- nothing. I have an extended warranty with Dell, and they shipped me a replacement power supply. I installed that and turned it on -- power came up, and the drives came up, but no video, and acted like it was not loading the OS (XP). Dell told me I probably need another mother board, and I am supposed to receive that and a new CPU on Wednesday. I know I installed the PS correctly. I have never really worked much on the inside of a PC before, so when I get the MOBO, I'm taking it down to a repair shop to install it -- looks kind of involved, and I don't have the time to learn how to do it. The inside of the PC was very dusty, so when I replaced the power supply, my wife and I took the PC outside and cleaned it out with dustoff and a vacuum cleaner -- hope we didn't build up static electricity on the components doing that. So today, I fired up my old W98SE machine, which is limping along because of a faulty driver update I accepted from MS, this PC also has very "bulgy" capacitors in the power supply (sigh). Hopefully I'll be back crunching in the next few weeks. littlepeaks |

Sorry to hear you have a very sick Cruncher Littlepeaks.
Its good you have a new PSU for the other new parts.. Old Grouch! Yay! Great to see your Handle again. The Stats sure reflect the Surge of Crunch Power we've ENJOYED! Better up date mine NOW. |

132 hours --> 68%
Lilpeaks don't worry about having a wimpy pc. Look how long mine has been working to gain just 68% but I'm told that the long ones have to be finished so I'm hanging in. I don't even show up on the stats.free-dc list of players yet. ' |
