Re: Teach me about this here forum

I've got plenty to say, but out of respect for the people who don't want to hear it, I'm excercising restraint - familiar with the concept?

Yes, I'm familiar with the concept; and I agree that restraint should be (and should have been) exercised.

I'll say what I want when I'm ready and I think it's appropriate - if you can't wait - oh well . . .

I'll wait patiently until you decide when you're ready.

When you are ready, please email me at Need_2_Vent @ hotmail.com. This way it is off the boards.

You'll feel better once you get this off your chest. And venting helps. It's important for us to remember that there is a proper time and place to vent. The proper time for you to vent can only be determined by you, and you alone. I'm offering a proper place, since it obviously isn't here.

I make one comment - one - about the attitude of the Grorg monitors, and you act like I kicked your puppy. I'd say you're the one who needs to get over a few things. If you don't like the fact that I make an occasional comment about how things were at Grorg - then just ignore it - or can't you do that? I had to ignore a lot back then. Now I guess it would be your turn. If you think this is venting, then you must have led a very sheltered life.

Re: Teach me about this here forum

I'm not going to go on multipage tirads, but if I feel like saying something I will. As long as I'm civil about it, and I have been, then I'll give you the same advice - if you don't like something someone says, ignore it. If you want to put a muzzle on me, then see if you can resurrect the Grorg - they had that down to a high art.

Re: Teach me about this here forum

Quote=? Is there a trick that the regular posters use to let you know who you are quoting? Entering [Quote="MemberName"] doesn't work, cause I already tried that.

Me2 All that vituperation is lost on me - Who's complaining, about what and who is ticking off the complainer?

. . . and when you hit the quote button, whom do you end up quoting?

It's a little annoying, but I guess it's due to the software being out of date - as has been noted by the CA's on previous occasions and in various threads. One way around it might be to just cut and paste the quotee's name in the quote - I did this once, but it didn't seem to be standard forum usage - although I can't see why anyone would mind. I'll try doing that in the future - if the need arises.

To answer you question. I had made a comment about Grorg moderators being out of a job and about their . . . um . . . let's just call it "moderating style". Debsgr8 seems to have had a visceral reaction to this fairly innocuous comment and decided that this was a viscious personal attack to which she had to respond. A few other Grorgs chimed in and I posted my response.

That should bring you up to date.

The author of whatever message you are sitting on when you do it...

There doesn't seem to be as much versatility, but you can always add the name in the message.
retsof says now: I can't remember whether anyone said this.

Another manual quote pair was added

That only had an IMAGE of a quote...tough to quote from, and a bit wide for normal consumption
