Re: Teach me about this here forum

The Grorg Stazi were really starting to wiz me off. Too bad they can't collect unemployment - heh, heh, heh.

Sugar, if you have something to say, say it. Don't be shy.

The sooner you get past all this pettiness, the better.

Might I suggest you start a new thread so you can purge yourself of all your pent up bitterness? Just get it all out of your system. It's not healthy to hold all that vile in, sweetie.

Come on dear. Got any more name-calling left in you? Do you have anything else that you need to vent?

I've still got my flak jacket, so don't worry about me. I can take it. The main thing is for you to feel better.

Re: Teach me about this here forum

Each organization has their rules.
Being the one who enforces the rules is usually different from being the one who WRITES the rules.
So don't be mad at the tax collector, be mad at the politician that wrote the tax code.
In other words, don't shoot the messenger.
Whatever happened elsewhere is OVER, get over it & move on to the next level.

Re: Teach me about this here forum

The above does not refer to Beta testing. Since I do not see a Test Forum, I was wondering if maybe there was a thread that the regulars used for testing out the time, the difference in posting modes, sigs, yadda, yadda, yadda. Previewing posts has it limitations, as one cannot compare posts side by side.

Far as I've been able to establish, the posts in Preview, including pictures and signature is WYSIWYG.

I've seen a posting mode of normal and enhanced, but either it's all enhanced or all normal, cant see the difference.

Re: Teach me about this here forum

Like Sekerob says - the Preview mode seems to work, though I have never given it a real workout. Normal mode just looks at the outermost tags and eliminates embedded tags. Enhanced mode supposedly lets you use multiple levels of tags. But the forum has some bugs in it, either in the original software or caused by the multiple-server hacks we added to the code.

Re: Teach me about this here forum

seems the BOINC forum software might get a PM function:

Rytis 29 Apr 2007
- Private message functionality for the forums.
NOTE: needs database update.

Translated, 2008, maybe for the pure BOINC project sites.

I've got plenty to say, but out of respect for the people who don't want to hear it, I'm excercising restraint - familiar with the concept?

I'll say what I want when I'm ready and I think it's appropriate - if you can't wait - oh well . . .

Yes, I'm familiar with the concept; and I agree that restraint should be (and should have been) exercised.

I'll say what I want when I'm ready and I think it's appropriate - if you can't wait - oh well . . .

I'll wait patiently until you decide when you're ready.

When you are ready, please email me at Need_2_Vent @ hotmail.com. This way it is off the boards.

You'll feel better once you get this off your chest. And venting helps. It's important for us to remember that there is a proper time and place to vent. The proper time for you to vent can only be determined by you, and you alone. I'm offering a proper place, since it obviously isn't here.
