Ode To The Horse By British Poet Ronald Duncan
----------------------------------------"Where in this wide world can a man find nobility without pride, friendship Without envy or beauty without vanity? Here: where grace is laced with muscle and strength by gentleness confined. He serves without servility; he has fought without enmity. There is nothing so powerful, nothing Less violent; there is nothing so quick, nothing less patient. Englands past has been bourne on his back. All our history is his industry. We are his heirs; he our inheritance. The Horse" Have heard read many Times at Olympia moves me every time having been with horses that I have loved big soppy things horses who give their all Milk round--- bakers round ---------- and our pony Smokey Even when they stand on your feet need cleaning out in dank stables refuse to come in when you are about to go to a show but they return your love roughly nudge you shout when you come into the field Look into thier eyes ---------------------------------------- [Edit 3 times, last edit by densnaps at Dec 23, 2007 11:27:44 AM] |

Like you Den, I made an impulse buy of a bag of good looking chestnuts having first felt them to make sure they were hard and fresh and hadn't been hanging around in the store for ages.
I'm not sure about our fan assisted oven but, from memory, they do well under the grill if you can stand by for the explosions. It's foggy here so not looking like the run up to Christmas. Going to a neighbour's little drinky do this evening and then it's peace and quiet at home. Hope your Church gigs go well GM. |
