Exactly very little is used, so why is HD considered a factor in UD points? 1GB or 100GB, won't matter, but I don't think it's fair to the nontweakers that they aren't scoring as much as they can while the tweakers do (and the tweaker's excessive GB "donation" doesn't make their PC any better than equiv RAM/CPU). The UD.EXE version makes uses of the HD factor, even though a high percentage is not used for these projects. United Devices wrote the program, and it is up to them to change it. We're just using the program. Just set the HD factor to 10 GB if you have that much and don't worry about it.If you want less points and have dial-up, you are free to crunch at grid.org, which also uses the network factors of UD.EXE. It is ignored here. The nontweakers also won't bother to change the UD throttle to 100% either. The defaults are being set more and more to an average, not the highest possible tweak. After all of that, we didn't write BOINC either. WCG contributes testing results, and hopefully BOINC will bring out improved versions.
