Personally I'd be slightly worried about having the 240 volt power supply in the bottom of a case if I were using water cooling because of what might happen if there ever was a leak. If there were a leak it might not matter. Keep an ABC type fire extinguisher handy.Also check out that peace sign screwdriver at left and the metal thing at lower right. Is that the mouse in armor? Pictures of the build at various points in time are interesting. It reminds me of Scribe's model railroads and tank. If it goes on fire when you're sleeping/in other room/out working then the fire extinguisher isn't much good. Also check out that peace sign screwdriver at left and the metal thing at lower right. Is that the mouse in armor? The screwdriver peace sign is an optical illusion, it's actually a squarish handle with lines up the edges and a band around. Think of it like looking at the corner of a drawing of a cube. The silver thing is the back of a cordless phone probably, essential part of a computer geek's toolkit to order in supplies of takeaway food, drinks, groceries, etc. to avoid having to make contact with the real world. Or in Fraz's case to order one of these as a backup to his main system.  |

Well, even though the PSU is at the bottom of the case, it is in a separate compartment, and the intake fan is at the bottom. It's pretty unlikely that a few drips of any water will make their way anywhere near it. Also check out that peace sign screwdriver at left and the metal thing at lower right. Is that the mouse in armor? The screwdriver peace sign is an optical illusion, it's actually a squarish handle with lines up the edges and a band around. Think of it like looking at the corner of a drawing of a cube. Hit a major snag with my new build which is most frustrating. Spent 10+ hours putting all the kit together, and now it looks like I'm going to have to take it apart again. The motherboard shipped with a BIOS too old to support my CPU, and the only solutions are to either find an older CPU of the same socket (i7 920, etc) so I can flash the bios, or send the motherboard back and get them to send me out a new one with an up-to-date BIOS.

See whether THEY can get it right to start.f Microsoft made cars At a recent COMDEX, Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated: "If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving twenty-five dollar cars that got 1000 miles to the gallon." In response to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release stating: If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics: 1. For no reason whatsoever your car would crash twice a day. 2. Every time they repainted the lines on the road you would have to buy a new car. 3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason, and you would just accept this, restart and drive on. 4. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn, would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine. 5. Only one person at a time could use the car, unless you bought "Car95" or "CarNT." But then you would have to buy more seats. 6. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, reliable, five times as fast, and twice as easy to drive, but would only run on five per cent of the roads. 7. The oil, water temperature and alternator warning lights would be replaced by a single "general car default" warning light. 8. New seats would force everyone to have the same size butt. 9. The airbag system would say "Are you sure?" before going off. 10. Occasionally for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key, and grab hold of the radio antenna. 11. GM would require all car buyers to also purchase a deluxe set of Rand McNally road maps (now a GM subsidiary), even though they neither need them nor want them. Attempting to delete this option would immediately cause the car's performance to diminish by 50% or more. Moreover, GM would become a target for investigation by the Justice Department. 12. Everytime GM introduced a new model car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car. 13. You'd press the "start" button to shut off the engine. Hit a major snag with my new build which is most frustrating. Spent 10+ hours putting all the kit together, and now it looks like I'm going to have to take it apart again. The motherboard shipped with a BIOS too old to support my CPU, and the only solutions are to either find an older CPU of the same socket (i7 920, etc) so I can flash the bios, or send the motherboard back and get them to send me out a new one with an up-to-date BIOS. Ohh that's bad luck. I'd also go with sending it back, the time and hassle of getting another chip, installing, flashing, replacing with the new chip, and getting rid of the old chip wouldn't be worth it to me. I think the replacement mobo would be the easier option. |
