Given that the latest Wednesday+Sunday Backup & Maintenance runs have taken from 09:00 UTC to 12:30 UTC, suggest u set your buffer to over 4 hours like 0.25 days e.g......... always got 2+ days worth, provided the RDCF is not up that famous creek.

and just like that it's back
---------------------------------------- Hi Sek in sunny Italy. One day (when the sun shines and the sky is blue) I'll upgrade all my BOINC Clients to the latest and greatest. At the moment I think I'm out of sync with the work unit disher-outerer (new word I just invented) and although it's set for somewhere between a week and 2 days some of my clients run very lightly indeed sometimes with no WU in reserve and then around the 50% mark they go pick up another. When I have a free minute (ROFLMAO) I'll sort it. Until then I'll volunteer to complain soonest on BOINC. Thanks for sorting it so quickly IBM Cheers dave ![]() |

Not being able to report Completed Tasks is one thing, not getting enough or not having enough to bridge longer maintenance and outage periods is another thing, so proposed to change the default in the device profile to at least cover the full duration of the weekly scheduled downtimes. It will effect the Global BOINC community though, as these settings proliferate across. Thus not sure if it is an easily accepted change.

Liking the speed of the new 12pm stats update some new equipment must have been deployed to cope with the ever increasing crunch time ![]() There may be a little distortion there today as the lunch time stats only show 53 years, where yesterday it was 75+. Think the validators need some encouragement or...... thinking that the backup//maint run did not finish until after the 12:00 UTC, many will have missed the cut. Also i find the validation at all a bit lackluster.... several FAAH's with quorum stuck in PV for a while now. To bring back the published validation schedule, added it here to the overview post on all that is per program: Update: My Grid only shows the UD agent stats updated at 12:00, but nothing added from what was validated between 00:00UTC and 12:00 UTC..... something is not right... 22 CPU years less is likely all of BOINC stats.

I got nothing from the midday update either. Haven't checked my PV's yet but usually have at least 20 waiting.

Thought that the default buffer size was 0.1 days for BOINC, but knreed just advised it's 0.3. That equals 7.2 hours of work.
----------------------------------------Saw other changes too like the default processor value is 16, where in past it was 4, so here the whole lot of advanced settings as at this writing. cheers
