Hi,
The past 24 hours, I have tried to make BOINC run the World Community Grid project, but without success. I am able to run other projects (SETI@home, ect), and I am also able to run worldcommunitygrid without BOINC. But when I try to start Worldcommunitygrid inside BOINC it fails. Also, when I try to click this link to view my account key, I get an error: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/viewMyProfile.do?regBoinc=true "Error The application is unavailable at this time, please try again later. Your action has resulted in an error." Is BOINC/Worldcommunitygrid down at the moment, or am I the only one who experiences these problems? /Jan |

It's all working for me. Perhaps you could explain the error more precisely?
raller, what version of BOINC do you have? WCG needs the latest version, because they use the compression and encryption features of the client. Also, if you have saved your BOINC preferences at another project, sometimes (rarely) the other project will put something in your preferences that WCG can't understand. If this is the problem, then one of the techs will check it for you. |

I have recieved `Project down` signals from WCG/BOINC from 09:;22 to 10:13 UTC. After that , all has been ok . WU uploaded ok, new units and stats downloaded OK.

Hi again,
I am still having problems. I will try to explain my problems a bit further. I have downloaded BOINC manager version 5.4.11 from BOINCs site. I downloaded it from BOINCs site today, so I guess it is the newest version available. When i try to attach to a new project, i write "http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/" as project URL. On the next screen I enter my existing username and password for World Community Grid. When I press "Next", it writes "Communicating with project Please wait...". After a few seconds it writes: "Failed to attach to project. Click finish to close. Messages from server: Unable to process your request. Please contact support for assistance". The log simply states: "Fetching configuration file from http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/get_project_file.php" and nothing more. And still.. When i try go to my profile using this link: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/viewMyProfile.do?regBoinc=true i get an error, as stated in my first post. Since I am the only one experiencing this, perhaps it has something to do with my profile? Ideas anyone? /Jan |

----------------------------------------5.4.11 is latest supported BOINC agent. Are u able to log in at all to My Grid or the Forum? Try clearing your browser cache and cookies and log on again. According to this link http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/stat/viewCo...Names%5B0%5D.value=raller u have recently returned a result. Is it from the same computer, but for UD Agent? Have u booted recently? Try attaching without the "http://" prefix Have u tried same with the firewall and antivirus, if any disabled? Are any other projects than WCG already attached to the agent? If not getting anywhere, send email to Contact Us so that the technicians can have a look. Include Computer ID and Member Name and the various versions of the security software. Added: I just went to the My Profile via My Grid and all shows fine. One more thought: Do u remember having seen a BOINC & Cross project ID which is 32 hex long? Thanks for your reply Sekerob,
I am able to log in to both the forum and to "My Grid". It is correct that I have recently returned results - as you write it is with the UD Agent. I am using the UD Agent on one machine, but since I just received a dual core, I want to change to BOINC to make full use of the CPU. I have tried to use BOINC from 3 different computers - all without success. I have disabled my firewall, and antivirus - but again without success. I have just tried to attach to the project without the http:// prefix - but that didnt help either. I am also attached to the SETI@home project using BOINC - and that project seems to work just fine. It just downloaded a work unit and begun processing it. Since i cannot even see BOINC in my profile (the link in post 1), it seems to me that something is messed up in my profile. Clicking on the http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/viewMyProfile.do?regBoinc=true link should be machine independent, and should work no mater what firewall etc. i have installed. If anyone have any idea about what to do, please let me know. I will contact the technicians if you guys dont have any further ideas :( /Jan |
