Hi Lawrence, I dont understand your suggestion. I am already registered with World Community Grid, so if thats what you suggest, then it will not resolve the problem. /Jan |

Hi Raller.
I have a number of machines, which have each been attached to WCG a number of times now and on each occasion I got the 'Failed to Attach...' message. Ignore the message. All will be OK. This is some kind of glitch and is meaningless.. Cheers. ozylynx  |

Hi raller,
I was just suggesting that you try www.worldcommunitygrid.org as the project URL rather than http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ Also, are you still having problems going to My Grid - My Profile? If you download a copy of BOINC from the WCG site, then My Profile should show BOINC information on it. Lawrence |

Hi Lawrence,
I have tried www.worldcommunitygrid.org instead of http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ - but without any luck. I can go to "My Grid -> My Profile" (which opens this link: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/viewMyProfile.do) - but this mentions nothing about BOINC. Should it mention anything about BOINC? Whenever I read about BOINC in the help files on WCG website it mentions the link: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/viewMyProfile.do?regBoinc=true. The "?regBoinc=true" part is not present when I select My Grid -> My Profile. Should I registrer someplace that I now want to use BOINC instead of UD? /Jan |

----------------------------------------Could you check if WCG_FAAH_AUTODOCK......(or similar) is running in 'Task Manager'? That will be your first indication that BOINC is working on a WCG project and therefore attached successfully, Cheers. ozylynx p.s. the two links you provide just bring up the sign in page on my end. Hi Ozylynx,
No WCG_FAAH_AUTODOCK or anything similar is present in my Task manager. I am fairly sure that the WCG project was not sucessfully attached to BOINC and that WCG is not running on the machine :( The links I provided should take you to the login page (if you are not already logged id). When I login, I get the error mentioned above - do you get such an error when logging in? /Jan |

----------------------------------------If you sign in and go to http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/viewThankYouBoincWin.do the website should register you as a BOINC user, making My Profile show BOINC registration information. This normally happens when you download BOINC from the website, but just going to the web page should do it. Added: My login works fine. If you cannot log in, then that might be the problem. Lawrence, thanks for the info.
It seems like every time I get to a page concerning BOINC I get an error. When I visit the link you provided, I get the same error as I mentioned before. I made a screenshot of it:  As you can see on the top right corner of the screenshot - i am signed in to my account (member name: raller), and I am visiting the link that you provided. It is the exact same error as I get when I visit http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/viewMyProfile.do?regBoinc=true. I have tried clearing all cookies, etc. from my browser, and I have also tried using Firefox instead of IE, but I get the error every time :( /Jan |

At this point, I think that you should send a 'Contact Us' report about this. It is beginning to sound as though something has gone wrong with your member information on the server. Lawrence |

No I don't get an error after login and Boinc specific info is at the bottom of the profile page. I have no further suggestions on this as any delays in the system should have sorted themselves out by this time. Just an open question... Can more than one project be run on Boinc without a third party account manager like bam.boincstats? I've never tried that. Are you using the same account name and password for Seti and WCG? That might affect it. The aforementioned account manager requires global password and Account name... btw. The 'Failed to Attach to Project" message in the Boinc Account manager really does come up every single time I have attached a machine to the project so don't assume that you haven't attached when you see it.
