Hi I got into this by first crunching Seti. Then I got tired of that.
Didn't really feel the endeavour was useful. So I searched for @home and found all these "noble" causes. And at the time Aids seemed like the thing that was most useful solving. I'm from Norway. |

Hi all. I am from the UK and would like to thank everyone here. Lets cure AIDS for good, we have lived with it for far too long.

Hi Ben K.,
Go TIGERS!!! I earned my BS in Biochem from Mizzou. Columbia, MO, and MU are special places. Enjoy them while you can. Best wishes, Dr. Alex Perryman PS--the Univ. of Missouri-Columbia has a "team" on the WCG (with very few members). I'm a member. You should join it, and spread the word. PPS-go to http://www.scripps.edu/~perryman/Graphics.html , click on the link for "HIV Protease: AutoDocked vs. X-ray Crystallographic Binding Modes" and go to page 2. That image could make a decent flyer to hang on campus. Or feel free to cut and paste that text (or something more clever, but still appropriate) onto one of the other images from my graphics page. I'll try to come up with a real slogan and a better image for a flyer, if you wish. But it might take me a while. I'm kind of busy. |

I'm from Austin, TX. I'm in this project because AIDS is destined to be cured, and every little bit counts, or in this case, every computers counts A LOT towards this project. Nothing is impossible, and AIDS will be cured, or else controlled with 100% success! If we can't cure it, we can still subside it enough to give someone a normal life at first, then we can cure it...however it goes. Computers are only getting faster. At this moment, I am running BOINC WCG on a Dual-Core 3.0Ghz AMD Windsor with a 7800GT Nvidia 256MB graphics and 2GB 800MHz DDR2 ram. I also run it on my laptop in idle...2Ghz 1GB DDR2, 128MB Radeon. I love how the snooze feature auto-resumes if I forget to resume it after using my system.
AIDs is just our generation's black plague. It will pass someday... and computers will smight it into the bloody grave it deserves. hah, we don't accomplish what we worry about, we accomplish what we fight. |

Washington state in the US... A nephew of mine died of AIDS in the mid '80's. My mother, a woman who feared many things, took care of him til his death. You would have to have known my Mother to know what a heroic act that was.
