What´s the difference between rosetta@ and FiA@?
Rosette already found some result? I think that if rosette has as much time searching, why I must help FiA@? Other question..... Why the people helps project like Seti? We need help projects that the goal is to improve the life in the earth. Aliens does not exist! see you friends |

Hello P4,
First, there are a lot of different distributed computer projects, as you can see at Distributed Computing: http://distributedcomputing.info/projects.html Different people have different interests. The World Community Grid only runs projects intended to help people, but there are many other interesting projects. LHC@Home and Einstein@Home concentrate on physics, while GIMPS (the Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search) is a long established mathematics project. Rosetta@home is used to develop improved algorithms for Rosetta, a protein-folding program developed at the University of Washington. We are currently using Rosetta in our HPF2 project ( http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/projects_showcase/viewHpf2Research.do ). FightAIDS@Home is using AutoDock 4 to screen possible drugs to use against HIV ( http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/projects_showcase/viewFaahResearch.do ). Rosetta@home is also using Rosetta for a number of practical purposes ( http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/rah_medical_relevance.php ), including vaccine development against HIV. Lawrence |

Other question..... Why the people helps project like Seti? We need help projects that the goal is to improve the life in the earth. Aliens does not exist! see you friends Because other people did not think like you and think that it is worth to do SETI. Do not matter de difference between the projects
Both are searching better therapies for deseases! We really need increase the computer power of the grid. Does anybody know the people from coca cola, GM, FORD, Macdonad´s or other big company? I think this kind of help will increase quickly the grid computer power see you ferrita |
