I've reviewed the entire thread, and our big problem is the three lines you have provided don't indicate any problem at all.

According to you, "several" work units have appeared to take too long, and you aborted them. We need more information. Sometimes work units do take a long time.

Please run some more HDC units, and let them continue to run. Maybe that way we can get some useful data and pinpoint the problem.
