D: Hal.....
H: Yes Dave...
D: Hal, do u feel like getting weaker?
H: Yes Dave...
D: Do u feel like there is someone disturbing your memory banks?
H: Yes Dave...
D: Hal, Is it save to use a different browser to investigate?
H: Well Dave, i don't think the Vole will approve of that!
D: Hal, the Vole can pass thru the Black Hole and come out the other end
H: Dave, is that save u think?
D: Not sure Hal, every time i make change, something goes wrong and all readings of the probes go off the scales then they disappear!
H: Well Dave, why don't u just leave it to the Vole?
D: Well Hal, i don't trust him, based on passed experience!
H: Sorry to hear Dave!
D: Yes Hal, i just got a Firefoxed hyperspace channel message that the latest updates to your OS can cause intermittent HTTPS page failure...
H: Dave, i got no hyperspace message of the sorts from the Vole!
D: Hal, do u feel like getting tweaker?
H: Daaaaaaaaaaaave..........

Re: It's International restart your Windows Cruncher day

I'm still here Hal Sekerob biggrin

Is that across all browsers or just FF?

It would be nice if IE7 let you download a new version of FF but IE7 just doesn't trust the internet to let you download anything useful LOL

FF shot itself in the foot recently releasing the version 2 beta which at first and even second glance still looks the same as 1.5.? those checking for updates for your addins just started to bug me too much so I'm back on 1.5. Now if only Opera rendered nicely...

Does netscape navigator still take an age to load?

Hal Sek could you open those pod bay doors?

Re: It's International restart your Windows Cruncher day

Dave, ffx 1.5.06 just out works fine....tried a few really secure sites, no HTTPS problems.....exclusive to IE7.

Opera9 is finely and truthfully rendering according to ACID2 test standards....dont like the widgets though....take too much CPU time.

Netscape navigator.....too heavy for me ().

PS want to get some (sometimes serious) ram back from MS and some CPU cycles? Regsvr32.exe /u webcheck.dll ...very stealthed permanent process for managing offline-favorites of (I)explorer. All still works fine 24 hours on....once convinced will run it with /x to obliterate it. http://www.derkeiler.com/Newsgroups/microsoft.public.security/2003-04/0507.html

Microsloth can take comfort in the fact that terrorists will never attack Microsloth headquarters. That bungling bunch of fools likely tops terrorists' lists of unwitting accomplices.

Re: It's International restart your Windows Cruncher day

"Oh no not again"

Feeling that Agrajag moment coming on again.

Doesn't Bill know that we have more important things to do in life than spending a couple of hours a month protecting ourselves from software flaws that hang around in our very expensive software that is now how many years old????

Oh hum

(a la Eeyore)

These months come around faster as you get older!!

When do you think all these bugs holes vulnerabilities will be sorted and we can have a month off from this madness?

Re: It's International restart your Windows Cruncher day

I hear you complaining....

but security patches and updates form a part of any healthy, secure computer system.

It's just that Linux users often have to apply all the patches by hand (or they don't bother, and have painfully exposed systems).

It wasn't called "a patchy" webserver for nothing, ye ken.
